Can I just say how much I'm looking forward to getting my Series X next month, and how much I hope MS lives up to the promise of focusing on performance next gen.

I was just playing Doom Eternal, and after I had finished a mission, my friend invites me to play some Destiny 2 with him. So I jump on that, and we load into a Crucible match. I literally thought the game was lagging for the first few rounds, because everything was so choppy. It felt horrible. I'm not sure I've ever switched directly - without break - from a 60fps game, to one that's only 30, so it took me a couple of minutes to realize that's why everything felt so off, but yea....it was terrible.

Please....no more 30fps shooters next gen.

I think Far Cry 6 is only 30 fps unfortunately. I think that Ubi might have decided to use ray-tracing on Far Cry, and we already saw that ray tracing was the difference between 30 fps on Watch Dogs Legion and 60 fps on Assassin's Creed Valhalla. Xbox Store listing for Far Cry doesn't list 60 fps as a feature, like it does for some games that are 60 fps.

Well, you just killed my excitement for that game

Instead of seeking to convince others, we can be open to changing our own minds, and seek out information that contradicts our own steadfast point of view. Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.

I'll take all the competitive edge I can get.  Just upgraded to a low-latency monitor and hopefully I quit getting pwned by those 12 year and under little shits.  Can't wait to see that low-latency in Halo and Crossfire X. Hopefully those trash-talking kids aren't upgrading their displays.

...to avoid getting banned for inactivity, I may have to resort to comments that are of a lower overall quality and or beneath my moral standards.

Oh great! I could never play gears 5 online because the competition was way too good for me and now they just got way better.

That game online community was pretty toxic and now they just got way more competitive.

Ooof really? Like as you unlock them it gets added? Thought it happened at the end lol 😂 I guess I didn’t pay attention to my points.

Yep as you unlock them it's fairly instant. Did you actually activate the punch card?

Got around 3000 myself Just couldn't be bothered with it and it puts me up at 125k reward points currently.

Yeah I didn’t actually look at until a day before it ended lmao Makes sense tho. And damn at those reward points I needa save up. I wanna get a controller using it.

Also seeing we have a few new posters in this thread (and lurkers) with the new gen coming up, feel free to add me on Xbox GT:PHO3N1X DOWN (Also in my sig)

Ryuu, you can add this to your OP GTs

I’m friendly (don’t listen to Spade).

Speaking of online play, is it just me or is Halo 3 full of elite MLG players online these days? I've never been good at halo online, but I always found it super fun, so I enjoyed it even though I sucked (doing stuff like driving a mongoose to the other team's base to steal the flag and succeeding one in a thousand times is a lot of fun for me). These days I've been going online a few times and I always get absolutely crushed. Like 3 kills, 20 deaths. Like I said, I always sucked, but not that badly. Last time in capture the flag my team just kept getting spawn camped and we would die as soon as we spawned. It sucked all the fun out of the game. I got on the mongoose once or twice and got killed while still in the animation.

Anyone knoe what's up? When did everyone get so good?

Edit: I'm playing it on Master chief collection BTW

Matchmaking can be frustrating at times. I somehow get AFK people on my team, but when I’m playing with a friend and searching for players it kicks me for being idle for like a minute lol. I don’t understand. But yeah there’s been a few times where I was matched against crazy skilled players, that wasn’t fun. Maybe they haven’t played enough in the particular playlist to get ranked above you.

I would imagine that the most likely explanation is simply that a large chunk of the MCC's current player base consists of the most hardcore of Halo fans. These people are bound to be much better than the average fan jumping back on every now and again. We're talking about people that live and breathe these games. You put that kind of time into something, you're bound to destroy the average player who's just revisiting an old favorite. It's not the same situation as jumping into an online match of the most recently released title, and there's this large mashup of different player groups.
