Lol, yep. Imo, all gaming events outside of E3 are terribly boring and lacking in big news reveals. Why I never bother watching them.

The Game Awards have been decent the last few years. They were roughly early gen when Keighley first started the,, but he managed to get actual big announces for the 2017, 2018, and 2019 shows. But yeah, E3 is the main show each year that is worth watching, it needs to come back next year.

Yep, E3 is pretty much the main thing I always look forward to in regards to gaming news, hopefully it's back in full force next year.

TGA definitely has some big announcements in the last few years, but I still prefer E3 over it because TGA has way too much unneeded filler and stupid ads. E3 format is just better

Microsoft going to TGS again for the first time in several years, just to do a rehash of recent announcements and releases, is one of the most laughable things I've ever seen. This was their one chance to show that they are committed to Japan and western fans of Japanese games ahead of launch, by at least walking out stronger Japanese 3rd party support for Xbox, if not a few JP exclusives or a JP studio acquisition, and talking about xCloud which has the potential for some success in Japan even without iOS support. Instead they do a 50 minute time waster conference, the first conference of the entire TGS, which sets the tone for the whole event. What the actual hell is MS thinking?

Phil has been bullshitting us for years on JP support, from saying there would be retribution for Sony hatting Street Fighter (which never came), continually saying how important Japan was for Xbox and how they needed to do better there, teasing a JP studio acquisition which still hasn't happened. If you don't give a crap about Japan or western fans of JP games then just say it Phil, stop lying to us.

I'll admit it's been better in the last few years. Getting Yakuza, new tales of, dragon quest and a few others. But yeah, pretty disappointing there will be no news; fucking waste of time.

How is everyone liking MS’s output for the year? What would you rate the games you’ve played? Honestly all the games I’ve played were pretty good, just a shame that the lineup is a bit lacking later this year.

The games I’ve played from MS, rated

Battletoads -7/10

Tell Me Why - 7.5/10 (so far)

Minecraft Dungeons - 7.8/10

Grounded - 8/10 (this could improve or decline with full release, basing this on the early access and what we know is coming)

Battletoads I gave a 7.8. First half was great, second half I felt was too much filler bs. Controls overall were good. And the other one being Grounded, which I definitely feel has been the best so far (granted I didn't play Ori yet). Had a lot of fun with Ryuu and you playing. Going to be a great game once it comes out fully. I'd probably agree with your grounded rating as well.

I didn't play anything else honestly. Objectively, I feel MS has improved with their output. Clearly, they didn't release any HUGE games, but players from Obsidian especially really helped to increase that quality. Moon Studios going to another publisher is sad if they not going to work on Ori. I will still play Ori, and Tell me Why.

For real why is XBox even doing a Japan event if they not going to announce anything new. Fucking sad. Still annoyed over that. Can't even get 3rd parties to put their games on PS AND XBOX. Shameful.

Yeah... would’ve been nice to announce persona or something. Weird to even come back with this bullshit. I don’t understand the purpose unless he thinks this will entice devs? Lol

That is really unfair thing to say about/to Phil, especially from someone who is following Xbox news closely and enjoying Yakuza games. We're in a much better state the last couple of years.

It seems you're listening too much to other fan bases.

I'd prefer if they don't attend TGS if that is really all what they're planning to do. It will damage the reputation more rather than improve it. Why can't they show new trailers of Yakuza, Tales of and other games they already showed off?

MS' output this year has been really strong.

Wasteland 3 is among the best games I've played all year. I'm not close to being finished but I imagine it'll end up being at least a 9/10.

I enjoyed Minecraft Dungeons as well. More content has been added since but at launch it was a 7/10 for me.

I'm interested in Gears Tactics but have yet to try it.
