Complaints revolve around no online co-op (was stupid of them to not include it, could have delayed it to Series X launch to add it in, we still would have had 3 XGS titles for August) also some complaints about the brawling, some about the minigames, seems to be more heavily leaning towards the minigames though, although GameInformer hated the humour.

Some reviews pretty surprising in a good way, seems generally positive with some outliers that really didn't like it and thus taking the score down hard, I might as well give it a go.

From a quick glance around it definitely seems like not having co-op will take it from what could of been a high 70's-80 to sitting in the low 70's which is just straight up weird that they had no online co-op and there really was no rush to put it out in August with all the other games releasing in the same window.  I do think they wanted it released Battletoads before Series X as they probably knew the meme and console wars negativity that would revolve around next gen if it was a launch title for the Series X.

Cuphead had no online co-op but it didn't affect the scores iirc.

Battletoads doing better than I thought. Low 70s might end in high 60s though. I'll play it. Why not, GAMEPASS BABY!

The humour sometimes is horrible but can be fun at times. One of the early minigames is about Toads looking for a job and one of the toads is stamping papers so MR bones (from sea of thieves) can sign it for his fans who are waiting in line...I enjoy those kind of moments.

Might be the next Bleeding Edge, all because it lacked online coop. Hope it hold at 70 though

If a damn TV show was actually impacting the development of a Halo game, nay, a mainline Halo game, nay, the sole mainline Halo platform for this whole upcoming generation.....everyone in management at 343, and everyone at MS who hired them, would go down as the dumbest people working in video games.
