So we have Shinobi confirming Mass Effect is safe (phew), an insider on XboxEra confirming that Street Fighter 6 is multiplatform, CoD and GTA aren't even worth considering except from some timed DLC nonsense.

We also have Jeff and Imran saying Sony and EA had a falling out because Sony was mad that EA showed Madden at the Xbox event so they kicked Fifa out their June event, can't imagine EA is eager to do many deals with Sony after that.

Really thinking its mainly going to be Square Enix and Bethseda, maybe Take-Two as well who accept outright timed exclusive moneyhats, I'm thinking Starfield makes even more sense when you look at how many RPG studios Microsoft has now, Sony might want to counter that.

I mean Sony going after the RPGs does make sense right now as MS is looking to really get some good RPG with Obsidian and PG; I didn't really think of that point.

Easy Gen 8 for me.

During the first half of gen 7 I was still a school kid and hadn't played that much as it was not easy to get new games, so I missed out entirely on lots of stuff. Second half of Gen 7 I wasted on Counter Strike. So, Gen 8 is probably the first one for me when I started following the gaming industry for new releases and really playing the games despite the fact that I started gaming since I was a kid back in late 90s.

As for the best gaming experience. Gen 7 has Nier which is my favorite game of modern era in gaming and a true gem of last gen, There are two games from 90s which I won't count as it is between Gen 7 and Gen 8. As for Gen 8, it's between Persona 5 Royal and Nier:Automata. I also quite enjoyed MGSV (yeah, I know, it is hated by many, but I liked it), FFXV (the same), FF Type-0 HD (not sure if it can be counted towards Gen 8 as it is a PSP port), Doom 2016, Doom Eternal, Quantum Break, Control, Sekiro, Astral Chain, Valkyria Chronicles 4, Celeste, Super Mario Odyssey. Maybe I'm forgetting something but for the most part, these are the highlights of this gen and definitely the games I've enjoyed.

As for what I'm looking forward to the most: probably nothing I guess. I feel like I got a bit old in the past few years and I can't say I really get excited about gaming related stuff at this point. There are games that I'm waiting to play. Nier Remake/Remaster is of course on top of the list (Again not sure if it counts for Gen 9 as it is announced as Gen 8 game). Halo Infinite, Cyberpunk, Yakuza 7, Scarlet Nexus (even though it's most likely not gonna be good). But that's about it.

I love you Capcom, I'm sorry I ever doubt you, #CapcomIsBackBaby!

Seems like Capcom isn't interested in any moneyhat bullshit anymore.

Would be surprising if Capcom was interested after how SFV situation went for them.

I think you found something peculiar I completely overlooked.

I mean, don't you think MS's first party looks strangely... Nintendo-ish? Is it possible that perhaps, for some bizarre reason, MS is trying to get not Sony's fans, but Nintendo fans on their side?

Also, xCloud is still going to rake in money. The subscription service needs mass and people who wouldn't splurge on a Series X or S will be able to do so on GPU and get the same deal for the most part on their favorite device.

I'm not sure if MS is making Nintendo-ish games or not, but I guess it would be a better direction for them rather than to go after Sony AAA style stuff. They just need to up the quality and they are gonna be fine even though some people will still be bitching about why Microsoft doesn't release AAA cinematic experiences. To be quite honest, no matter what anyone says, with GamePass, it's not gonna be easy for them to go after Sony exclusive type of game. Nothing wrong with it. Because MS doesn't need to. They just need to make good games and that's it. Mario does not cost much for Nintendo but they polish it to be a truly outstanding experience which is way better than any Sony game.

Joking around but honestly I do respect Capcom a little more for making SF6 multiplatform if true, they could have easily took a deal, I bet they were offered one too. They started this generation poorly, taking scrap deals from everyone but now they're in a great place, releasing critically acclaimed titles one after another.

Seems Square Enix are the only sellouts so far, oof, hows that feel Spade?

Also apparently SF is in a bit of development trouble, rumour is Ono was kicked from the project and it has been delayed internally.

Oof. That sucks.

Bruh I told you Discord, SE was doing so well.

They had brought all those FF games to Xbox... FUCKING DRAGON QUEST 11... FF 14 confirmed, 7 HD, 8,9,10 collection, 12, hell even World of FF, and then they had to fuck it up by taking that FF 7R deal, which to be honest sales not THAT impressive. Again not saying that they would have been stellar, but still not the greatest for a renowned FF game.

SqEnix has been in bed with Sony the entire gen. Hell, they are the worst Japanese publisher when it comes to Xbox. They have only released three games day and date on Xbox if I'm not mistaken - FFXV, Type-0 HD and KH3. Back in 2017 or 2018, PS4 had like 20 games from them at that time. It's good that they are bringing stuff to Xbox even a bit late, but I wouldn't be surprised if they continue delaying Xbox releases even without Sony's paychecks, but just because they are assholes.

Sony being upset about EA showing some tiny Madden teaser during an Inside Xbox has to be one of the most petty things I've ever heard in my life. That sounds so unbelievably childish, it can't even be real.

Sony noneyhatted a game with guns in space?
I think you all ignore the obvious. Sony moneyhatted Halo!!

Killer Instinct is trash though, let Sony money hat that junk.

Madden and FIFA and well any licensed sports title will remain multiplatform, due to contracts with the sports leagues. Even MLB The Show is going multiplatform. I could see potential marketing rights deals where say the Xbox logo appears at the end of commercials or limited edition consoles only one Xbox Series X.

I think Sony has marketing deals with EA for FIFA, so that's probably the only thing that prevents them from partnering with Xbox right now after Sony being childish as they obligated by contract and can't do that. It's also quite interesting that Madden has a history of being in partnership with Xbox. It never had partnership with PS, so why does it offend Sony only this time.

You got me. Microsoft had a sponsored deal with the NFL at one point as well.

Still do. They use Microsoft Surface in lieu of other computer brands.

Just finished Halo: Reach for the first time. Bungie definitely went out with a bang on this one as their last contribution to Halo franchise. Now only Halo 4 left and ODST (but not sure if I'm gonna play this one).

I’m doing a solo legendary run of Reach rn lol on “The Package”, I only do a mission or two a day because I don’t wanna rage 😂 But my god the long night of solace space portion was way harder than I remembered . I died so many times, idk how imma speed run that one. Revisiting Reach kinda took off the blinders I had. I still enjoyed it but damn Bungie played it pretty safe, and the characters aren’t as great as I remembered them.
