My favorite thing about these exclusivity deals, is how Sony can do it with a franchise as huge as FF, and the internet is like "See, this proves PS is better, I can't play this high production value single player game anywhere but PS. Xbox is for losers." Conversely, if MS does it with something that's not even on that top tier of popularity, like Tomb Raider, the whole internet explodes with "MS is so anti-consumer, we won't stand for this BS! Stealing content from other platforms!"

Talked with Woody on the Discord about the exclusivity. I feel like there's a stark difference between getting exclusivity for indie titles and smaller titles, but when you have these big AAA studios like Bethesda and SE, it's pretty BS that they are restricting these big budget games.

Ff16 being timed exclusive would suck. Still, don't plan on buying PS5 in the near future, so will have to wait to play it then. IMO, SqEnix are making a huge mistake by doing such deals with franchise as big as FF. Especially, considering that they even pay to keep it off PC as well. It would do more harm than good to the franchise. And additional Sony money won't benefit them in the long run. But yeah, it's SqEnix that we are talking about, they love licking Sony's ass so will be totally not surprising if it turns out to be true.

There's a very vocal part of ps community that thinks every game franchise belongs to ps platforms because they have a history in that platform. Even if that history was paid with moneyhats like with Final Fantasy and Tomb Raider.

If you thought the Tomb Raider and DLC for CoD timed for a month was bad... idk what Sony been doing lol Indies need to support, big publishers where they cut checks to keep a game off a platform don’t. I’m just happy to see MS move away from that strategy, just seems like a waste of money.

Never saw a gaming company as annoying as Sony right now. Like I said some days ago, they try to force people to buy a PS even if they don't want to. In a normal world all those (like half the Internet) who complained year after year about some small MS decisions which also sucked shouldn't buy a PS but well.... Not only Sony "fans" who complained about MS will buy a PS but even those who complain about Sony moneyhatting everything will buy one.

It will be like: "hey Sony, I hate what you do but I will buy a PS and your moneyhatted games to show you even more that it works".

And then MS still releases a game like Minecraft Dungeons on PS. Can't imagine how those from Sony can't stop laughing about their competition.
