According to XboxEra a lot of 1st party studios are helping on Halo Infinite to make sure it launches on time - They said there is a 1st party title which was going to be a launch title which has now been delayed because they had to help out on Halo Infinite, he says it's Forza Motorsport.

This is pretty insane, almost every studio is helping 343, Motorsport being delayed because of it, Halo Infinite is definitely 343's last chance with this massive amount of effort going into it.

It's also on the flip side nice to see Xbox studios helping each other out, we have enough studios now that we can do this on a large scale, I hope it extends deeper, Obsidian helps other studios with their writing, Coalition helps Undead Labs with their technical, etc.

343 needs some serious re-structuring if this is the case. Yikes.

Let's say this happens, which doesn't seem unlikely.

The idea of f2p Halo multiplayer becomes the most pointless thing anyone's ever thought of.

just confirms my idea for a CoD MW approach

This makes no sense. Microsoft charges $15 for gold and gamepass. Why would they get rid of gold just to make it part og gamepass and charge less than they are now?

Well $15 is GP Ultimate. Current $10 GP is only on console or PC. Likewise, xCloud is being added to GP Ulti but not to normal GP.

So with GPU you are getting both console and PC plus cloud streaming. With normal GP you only get either console or PC.

That's my understanding. And if that's corrects, it makes a lot of sense to me to ditch Gold and get everyone on GP instead, since the more users that service has, the better got MS.

I feel like most people only yse ultimate for console gamepass and gold. Thats the only reason I have it. Dont use the PC gamepass. If it becomes $10 for gamepass and gold most people would switch to that.

At the very least they should make F2P games free multiplayer. Just like PS, do console parity.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

Hmm, it will boost Gamepass a lot but it will also mean that first party sales will go downhill a lot. Will be fun to see some users in forums mentioning how MS games sales tank even though they obviously know why.

We have others in the industry now hinting that MS is going to put online play behind the Gamepass paywall. Really not liking the thought of having to pay twice as much for online play on Xbox next gen, $120 vs $60. We won't even be able to use Microsoft Rewards to pay for online play like we can currently, as 3 months of Gamepass costs 35,000 reward points, and it is only possible to earn around 30,000 points every 3 months I think (which requires bing PC and mobile searches, Edge browser usage, Gamepass challenges, and daily bing challenges). Before you could earn enough to get Gold for free and still have some points left over for other things like a 1 month gamepass code or $5 Xbox gift cards every now and then.

It's kind of a weird thing to complain about. You make up that difference by playing one AAA game off GamePass that you would have otherwise bought. If you game regularly on your Xbox, there's a 0% chance this doesn't apply to you.

That’s not necessarily true. In many cases sales go up. People recommend to their friends who don’t have GP. DLC purchases go up for those playing on GP who otherwise wouldn’t play the game.

Right now saying “total players” instead of total sales is new to us and will take some getting used to. But the more GP catches on the more we will accept the new standards. It may not be a upfront sale but we are essentially paying money to play the games. Just spread out every month instead of all upfront.

Sure but sales only go up because "only" 10m people have GP right now and it's games which are leaving Gamepass again. When everyone who wants to play online will have GP and people will know that MS's first party games won't leave the service again then sales of these first party games included in Gamepass won't sell as much compared to a time before we even had stuff like Gamepass.

That doesn't make the games less successful but I'm sure there will be some who try to spin it in a disaster.

We can have 50m people who play Halo and it will be "lol it only sold 5m" or something like that...

Nothing MS will care about but it will be annoying.
