Just saw the Playstation show and I really liked Ratchet and Clank, and Horizon but I thinkHalo Infinite can easily outshine everything shown.

Damn what a statement by Klob

Need to keep my expectations in check but i believe that MS can easily beat Sony's 1st party showing that they had at their event, i just don't want MS to blow their load and i hope for at least one big surprise that hasn't been speculated or leaked.

Sony had what for first-party? Spider-Man 2, Gran Turismo 7, Ratchet & Clank and Horizon 2. Am I missing anything?

We know MS will have Halo Infinite and probably a new Forza, and I am sure some nice surprises.

The Robot Game from Studio Japan, The Returnal by Housemarque, Sackboy game and Demon Souls Remake. Reason i have no hype for Sony is because they had no surprises and the games you mentioned above were all expected.

Forza and Halo will probably have extended gameplay and that is already a great start, Hellblade 2 confirmed and The Initiative game confirmed as well. I expect Flight Simulator, Age of Empires and possibly a Fable teaser and Grounded gameplay. MS showed 4 (i believe) XGP exclusives like The Medium, Scorn, The Ascent and that other indie adventure game.

Sackboy, Returnal, and Demons Souls are 2nd party, not 1st. Sackboy is developed by Sumo Digital, Returnal by Housemaque, Demons Souls by Bluepoint, Sony owns none of those 3 studios, making them 2nd party games.

Demon Souls is being co developed by Japan Studio as well though so it's kind of in the grey area. So if we only take the 4 1st party games into consideration then MS can easily match with Halo, Forza, Hellblade, and the Initiatives games being confirmed for the event.

This is what i Expect and want from MS 1st party

  • Halo Infinite, Series X Gameplay and Story trailer
  • Forza Motorsport, Series X Gameplay
  • Perfect Dark by the Initiative, World Premier
  • Hellblade 2, story/gameplay trailer
  • Flight Simulator, new trailer
  • Age of Empires, gameplay trailer
  • Psychonauts 2, new trailer
  • Fable by Playground, World Premier
  • Grounded, new gameplay trailer
  • Project Mara, story/gameplay trailer
  • New game by Double Fine, World Premier
  • EverWild, story/gameplay trailer
  • The Outer Worlds, DLC trailer
  • One new studio Acquisition, AA size.

Personally do not want them blow their load so i would rather they save Obsidians AAA game for next year, don't expect anything from Inxile, Undead and Compulsion. I expect some new unannounced exclusives from XGP as well ranging from at least one 1 big AAA game to some smaller AA-Indie Titles. The Medium has a 2020 release date so i expect a gameplay demo to be shown as well.

Shouldn't be too hard for MS to beat the show.
Even the 3rd party stuff was barely better than what was shown on the previous Xbox show.
Once I'm home again, I will take a look at some trailers (I hear RE8 looked pretty good.)

Guns, Love and Tentacles was a very good dlc for Borderlands. Plenty enough of content to justify 15€ price tag, a good story and funny jokes.

You've been invited to a wedding of Wainwright & Hammerlock in an eery, Lovecraftian town. And yes, of course you make friends with a whiskey-drinking private detective. Don't miss it if you played Borderlands 3!

Spiderman is just an expansion not a sequel.

I think for me what made me find the PS5 event underwhelming was the lack of a big new IP to bring the excitement and wow factor it was more of a safe show to say hey you liked these games on the PS4 we have a sequels on the PS5 in the same way if MS just turn up with Halo, Forza and Hellblade II in July I'd be left thinking meh we know what to expect from all these games I want to see a big AAA new IP something unknown that I can't wait to dive into so hopefully MS have 1-2 of these offerings in July.

We still haven't had a proper gameplay look into next gen either really with the majority been of A/AA sized games or "in-engine" short clips /cinematic trailers mashed together

Seriously?? I thought the lack of gameplay or notable improvements was fishy. At first I thought it might be an Infamous: Second Son type game to help showcase a new system, but it's actually closer to Infamous: First Light. Maybe not even that.

Really can't trust these big compilation showcases anymore. That's why from Microsoft what I really wanna see is just 30+mins of Halo Infinite. Show how it's returning to it's roots, how they're expanding with big open maps and scenery, how the wildlife from the first trailer translates into the gameplay/world, and just generally showcase the next-gen capabilities. Just like Breath of the Wild in E3 2016, Halo Infinite needs to be a homerun.

After that, Microsoft can add in all the extras like Forza, Fable, new Obsidian RPG, EverWild, Hellblade 2, Psychonauts 2, Perfect Dark etc. Maybe even a Scalebound revival as a late gift for Xbox One owners and a year one title for Series X (obviously less realistic). Along with that, showcase smart delivery upgrades like Cyberpunk, Yakuza, AC: Valhalla, Hitman III and so forth.
