Dirt 5 supporting 4 player co-op and 120fps are really neat. They should have emphasized this in the trailer

Well those people will look like fools after the next Xbox show. I seriously doubt people will suddenly start to see SeX as a weak console.

Memories of X1 disaster launch are the reason why some of you make this misstep a bigger deal than it is.

@Angelus Average consumer has plenty of time to change his/her mind. Sony better come out and guns blazing because I think so will Xbox in July.

Well we had folk still thinking Xbox One was always online for quite a while after so Idk, people are easily confused

If it spreads to general consumers who don't watch these shows that PS5 is more powerful then it will be a screw up.

Yup but this was just a peek at 3rd party games, doesn't really compare to shitstorm after a console reveal.

And like mentioned before, PS5 secret sauce stuff is already spreading. Don't think this event changes much. July presentation might, however.

That drama here because of the dates when the games are shown...

I found this needless today but common... if Xbox Series X games will look better as PS5 games, people will talk about that months before the consoles even release. If Halo and other games will blow people away then they will blow people away and people won't be like "but PS5 games in June looked better as Xbox games in May so I buy a PS5 instead end of the year"

Sure, it will be a lot of shit talking starting in June but that will let those who talk so much shit look really stupid if Xbox games will look even better then.

And if PS5 games will look better as XSX games (which I can imagine even with a weaker console with all that Unreal Engine usage of MS studios and Sony studios trying harder to achieve the best graphics the last years) then it would also not help to show people the Xbox exclusives before Sony shows their games.

As if someone will see videos of potential better looking Xbox exclusives all the months before the consoles release and be like "but Sony had one month where they looked better, they won my heart"

Yeah, it really makes no sense to me. Xbox has been controlling the next gen narrative since the Game Awards in December. Why just hand that narrative over to Sony now, giving them a chance to do a full E3-esque blowout for PS5 next month? Supposedly this whole idea of spreading out announcements from now till launch was the new marketing guy's idea. I had high hopes when I heard that the guy who did Xbox marketing at the height of 360's popularity was coming back to Xbox after a stent at Netflix, but if this was his idea it seems disastrous.

Sony will be able to open PS5 preorders in June now pretty much unopposed, even if Xbox opens preorders in June as well, who that was on the fence between PS5 and XSX up until this point, is going to choose XSX now, after Sony does a big E3-esque blowout and all MS has shown is an-engine teaser for Hellblade 2, a year old Halo Infinite trailer that was running on XB1 X specs instead of XSX specs, and a bunch of cross-gen 3rd party games? What a blunder by MS, smh.

Bold: Tbf we don't know if Sony's show will be much better. Corona could possibly complicate things for them.

A little break down of some of the stuff we saw.

Next gen only:
Bright memory: Infinite
Scorn
The Medium

Exclusive:
The Ascent
The Medium (Could just be timed)
Scorn (Timed?)
Scarlet Nexus??? Maybe or Timed? - Bandai Namco put up their site and haven't confirmed anything except Xbox like publishers usually show other platforms after a reveal.

Gamepass Day One:
Scorn
The Medium
Call of the Sea

It was better than I expected. I thought it would be 3-4 games with a lot of talk from devs about these games. But instead we got around 15 game announcements with the majority of them being either completely unannounced before or not being announced for Xbox.

The interesting stuff to highlight: Bright Memory Infinite, Dirt 5, The Medium, Scarlet Nexus, Yakuza: Like a Dragon.

Also, The Medium won't have Xbox One version it seems, so here goes that first "true next gen" game that won't be held back by Xbox One, a lot of people were anticipated to see.

Scorn is exclusive?

Also The Medium only mentions Xbox and PC in their investors release so it's very likely exclusive too (Likely timed).

That is what they said over on IGN talking after the show that it will be timed exclusive.

Well overal we also get the summergamesfestival, seems we will get every week something announced in general gaming.

For example a game announcement next week tuesday.
