If so why is the cma complaining about CoD when Ms are going to allow that on Sony and it seems now Nintendo platforms and when it comes to young kids id imagine spiderman is much bigger to them then Cod. I know my kids 8 and 7 loves spiderman and fortnite etc but doesnt care for CoD at all.

Today is Sunset Overdrive’s 8th anniversary. What a shame the game didn’t get the love it deserved…..

Sunset Overdrive was the reason I got an xbox one (and MCC to an extent)

I still remember fondly the days when @Spade called me Fizzie, now he just calls me tubby :sob:

If somehow you STILL haven't played SO, you owe yourself to check out one of the few gems the dark xbox era produced

I really feel like SO was Insomniacs most realised game, it was peak Insomniac.

Ride The Chariot || Games Complete ‘24 Edition

Yeah Sunset Overdrive was a really good & fun game. Odd it didn't seem to sell well.

Today, Spencer said, Microsoft gives people choice in how much they'd like to spend if they want consoles. The company offers the $499 Xbox Series X and the less powerful $299 Xbox Series S. Microsoft subsidizes the cost to the tune of $100 to $200 per console, with the expectation that it will make the money back on sales of accessories and storefront purchases, he said. It's up to gamers if they'd like to pay $10 or $15 per month for Game Pass subscriptions. They can also buy games outright, or play certain games for free.

Spencer said he doesn't think Microsoft will be able to keep the prices of games constant forever. But they can provide impressive amounts of entertainment in comparison with other pursuits. "People can play video games for hundreds of hours," he said.

Microsoft's Phil Spencer: Gaming 'Somewhat Resilient' to Weak Economy

That's a big loss on hardware.

Also seems to confirm that he was specifically talking about the price of games when he mentioned about increasing prices.

Sony and publishers like Activision were the main ones pushing for 70$ games, even Bethesda priced Deathloop and Ghostwire at 60$ despite being next gen only. MS/Xbox are going to have to go with the flow of the industry and raise prices too like Ubisoft who originally didn’t increase to 70$.

Problem is that the AAA industry especially this last gen have released busted and broken games at launch and that isn’t likely to change, not every game is worth 70$ especially with how F2P/GaS games have gotten more popular and competitive.

I mean, when you just think about it rationally, raising the price of games first and foremost makes sense, because it makes GP even more attractive. The more expensive the individual games are, the better the service looks.

The AoE 2 DE esports is having its own World Finals and currently has 30k viewers on Twitch. Not bad for a game that’s 23 years old lol
