I'm curious outside of playing them "Free on Gamepass" how many of us here are buying Xbox games physical still? I used to be a physical only buyer last gen but with all the installer on a disc or the the Xbox One version only on a disc requiring full game download for Series X anyway it's made me care very little for physical copies on the Series X but I also care just as little for digital game prices in the UK.

I'm still purchasing physical. Prefer it.  I'm not a Gamepass guy and I am still on Gold.  I sometimes buy digital, because sometimes that's the only way the game can be purchased and I will sometimes buy games that are on the Deals with Gold that I would not normally purchase physically.

This is in my saved for later section of my cart. 2023 will be a big year for filling my shelves.  Many games are still not up yet for pre-order.

edit= pay no mind to the strainer

Gonna add Persona 5 Royal to that list when it goes up? I was looking into getting Soul Hackers 2 but I keep hearing/reading of how it's a lower budget title that only the diehard Atlus fans will really enjoy. I still might pick it up later on sale.

Absolutely and the other 2 in 2023 if there are physical releases.  If not, will still probably get digitally.

Depends on the games. Not buying a lot of physical games lately but some stuff just isn't available anymore on the MS store or never get on sale.
There's also one online shop that sometimes gives out vouchers without any minimum order value which lets me get a €15 game for €5 every once in a while. Oh and whenever my wife doesn't know what to buy for my birthday or Christmas. I tell her what games I want to have and she buys them (physical).

The ones I bought in 2022 were: Just Dance 2016, Just Dance 2017, Just Dance 2019, Just Dance 2021, Just Sing and Kinect Sports Rivals.

My wife got me for Christmas: AC Valhalla Gold Edition, Watch Dogs Legion Gold Edition and Borderlands 3 Ultimate

EDIT: reminds me that I almost bought Tales of Arise one or two months ago when the physical version was only lik €17 here but since I have hundreds unplayed games right here, I can wait until it hits €10 or I buy the digital version with reward points. Also I used to buy the CoD games physically but with MS acquiring Activision, I'm not buying any more of their games.

These are the ones on the shelf.  Sorry for the quality of the image, pulled it from another thread and lost some resolution.  I was also drunk at the time I took the original photo.

Going by our Amazon wish list, I expected you to have more physical games than I. I'm just shy of 100. The difference is that you still have space on your shelf...

EDIT: Thanks for reminding me about Biomutant. Somehow that's not on my wishlist. (Unlocked one achievement during the Free Play Days. Basically have to play it now).

I pretty much purchase the cheapest version.  I really do not care if its digital or physical because there is barely any chance I am going to revisit a game once I finish it.  I have a huge selection of games now from all different generations stored in a box, I never intend to go back and play.  I see no reason to sell them to Gamestop since they only give you a few bucks now which is not even worth the drive to the store.

I will say that I usually get the physical version cheaper than digital so its been pretty much what I purchase but during digital sales if the price is close then I would usually get the digital version as I really do not need the disc.

I started late.  I held off on Xbox until the One X Scorpio came out.  I think there are 60 in the photo. I've been picking up steam since the Series X.

Shelf space is definitely a good consideration to have mine are almost full as well my gaming shelf is mostly full of Switch games which I am 100% physical on and my other shelves are full of blu-ray and as more of my favourite films get a UHD release I can't help myself but buy more.

Yeah digital is always £15-20 more expensive day one here so I never buy new games that way most of my digital purchases are usually when games hit that nice 80-90% reduction sale and the physical is out of print and/or costs more.
