Poor Joe, Lol.

Will deserve a big bonus after turning the 343 content pipeline around.

I feel so bad for the dude taking so much negative flack for a game that he came in to lead very late in development.

I don't even want to know what 343's content pipeline would've looked like if Joe was never brought on

How much worse would the Halo Infinite content be if Joe Staten didn't come into the picture?

Tbf Joe has always said that he didn't actually change much about Infinite, aside from adding some minor things, it was mostly him invigorating the team, the content was already locked in but it had to be polished up for launch, I suspect it would have launched with the same content but it would be a lot more buggy/broken without the right leader.

But it was Joe who convinced Xbox to give them an extra year so if it launched in 2020 still then yeah, likely a lot less content.

My speculation would be that the content we have in Infinite was only made very recently, like a year or two before launch, I strongly suspect the tools are a bit of a mess, Infinite's only issue is content and it's coming so damn slowly, 343 have moved faster than this before, I think something went wrong in the revamping of the engine and it needs more work, of course, the contractor issue is a nightmare too, they likely lost a lot of contractors once Infinite shipped which is lost manpower.

Keep mentioning it but Destiny 1's engine is built off the same engine that Slipspace is (Blam) and that was reportedly awful, just a quote on how bad it was.

“Let’s say a designer wants to go in and move a resource node two inches,” said one person familiar with the engine. “They go into the editor. First they have to load their map overnight. It takes eight hours to input their map overnight. They get [into the office] in the morning. If their importer didn’t fail, they open the map. It takes about 20 minutes to open. They go in and they move that node two feet. And then they’d do a 15-20 minute compile. Just to do a half-second change.”

Wouldn't be surprised if we're looking at the same issues with Infinite Tbh, end of the day, Slipspace is still built off Blam.

The same engine had been a problem in Destiny 2 for a long time too. I was a huge Destiny player till early last year and D2 at launch as well as the first couple of DLC's leading up to the launch of Forsaken, everyone was complaining how slow it was for content to release. I think it was a 6 month season before Forsaken, and in This Week At Bungie (TWAB) Bungie themselves always brought up how hard the tools were they were having to deal with. At the end of Season of the Worthy in Summer 2020, it was considered an absolute miracle that Bungie was able to pull off a live event within the engine where the entire Destiny community got to see a ship get destroyed in real time. Bungie even talked about how many engineers it took to pull it off. Which is really something considering the live event itself was very disappointing

So it really wasn't until 2020 that Bungie finally was able to get to the point of having better tools to work with in order to get the game to run efficiently as well as putting out content at a faster pace. Even then, the last 2 expansions, Beyond Light and The Witch Queen had to be delayed an additional 3 months each I believe leading to 2 additional 6 month long seasons.

Ngl, that's.....surprising.

Hmm, what more could MrMatty provide about these leaks though?

Christ we need an event

I don't know how I'm gonna last another month and a half of silence :(

With how well Xbox is doing and now your own CEO touting how well it's doing too, you'd think Phil would be having everyone work overtime on getting some sort of event out there asap to keep the hype train rolling! At least until the true event in June happens.

We're almost there, and then days before we get there, it'll all leak anyway

There's really not much to leak, unless actual footage gets out. It's not like we don't know what games MS has in the pipeline for the near future. Hell, we know games coming like 3-4 years from now. It's just about actually seeing some shit in action.
