Grubb Pls

Josh Sawyer Obsidian game details from Grubbsnax : GamingLeaksAndRumours

  • Focusing on experimental mechanics and interactions.
  • It's still being developed by a small team.
  • 16th century Europe setting.
  • Still planned to have no combat.
  • Murder mystery RPG. You will be investigating a murder by talking to people and building a case. You can accuse people of murder. You will possibly continue to play even if you get it wrong and see the consequences.
  • Planned to be coming out in 2022.

I'm very intrigued by this game now.

So it begins.

Did you miss Humankind?

Nothing about Total war is a beginning, there's been several pc centric games from different publishers going into gamepass day 1.

I was more referring to the recent Sega and Microsoft partnership with Azure. I haven't paid the closest attention to Game Pass for PC as my PC is outdated and stuck in Windows 8.1 until I upgrade it.

I know you were, that's why I said it's nothing new. It was happening way before the partnership already.

Went with Dying Light 2. Already have Saints Row Special edition on pre order. Wish they put the first one on GP.

Elden Ring definitely looks extremely outdated graphically. I'll tell you what it reminds me most of, is Shadow of Mordor from 2014, which was of course 7th/8th cross-gen, held back by 360/PS3. Not only does it artistically remind me of Shadow of Mordor, but something about the quality of the ground textures and the character models and the amount of ground cover (grass) and such. Pretty bad look for From Software if going open world screwed them up so badly that it looks like their game is from 2014.

I'm really not a fan of those "soul yyyy" games but I think Elden Ring looks good to be honest :)

What I saw was enough to get me a bit excited about it; I think I will end up playing this one.

Returnal is meh to me and I don’t believe that it should be nominated imo, there are 3 other games that I didn’t mention that have a higher rating Monster Hunter Rise, Deaths Door and Tales if Arise. The latter two I don’t believe will be nominated but have a good chance of winning Indie GOTY and RPG GOTY.

Overall ratings are important sure, but they are likewise sometimes irrelevant.

Take 2020: the nominees for GOTY at TGA included GoT (86), FF7 (88) and Doom (89). Returnal has an 86 average.

Likewise, P5Royal, Half-Life, Flight Simulator, and Crusader Kings 3 are all higher rater than Animal Crossing, but none of them were up for consideration and yet AC was.

Popularity and names play a role which is why Deatg Stranding was nominated one year.

Returnal might get nominated but like I said i don’t believe it deserves it above some or the others I listed, but that is just my opinion.

Just to put Sega's support of Xbox into perspective.

  • Let Xbox use Creative Assembly for Halo Wars 2.
  • Let Xbox use Relic Entertainment for Age of Empires IV.
  • Phantasy Star Online 2 is only on Xbox in the West and using Azure.
  • Streets of Rage IV in Game Pass (and xCloud)
  • Pretty much the entire Yakuza series is on Game Pass (and xCloud)
  • Two Point Hospital on Game Pass.
  • Football Manager 2021 on Game Pass.
  • Football Manager 2022 is launching day one into Game Pass.
  • Humankind is launching day one into Game Pass.
  • Sega is using Azure for its next online focused titles.
  • Total War: Warhammer III is launching day one into Game Pass.

I think they may be the best Japanese publisher in terms of supporting Xbox, it's hard to tell whether this Azure deal will result in anything further or if what happens next is just a continued commitment of Sega's support, or the Azure deal is another example, Sega and Xbox have been close for a few years now.

At this point, I would honestly almost assume that anything from Sega Europe will be launching into Game Pass, Lol, from their Western studios at least; Amplitude, Creative Assembly, Sports Interactive all have day one launches confirmed, Relic has just finished Age of Empires IV, Hardlight doesn't have anything announced and Two Point Studios has Two Point Campus which I'm expecting to be confirmed for Game Pass eventually.

Seems the only real holdout is Atlus but I've heard that Atlus has a lot of independence, sounds almost like Mojang, Lol, so they'll have to be convinced separately from Sega.

Nothing to do with SEGA, they licensed out the ip, panzer dragoon/house of the dead/wonder boy/alex kidd style.

Voted Dying Light 2 even though I also want Elden Ring.

Voted Tiny Tina's Wonderland as I'd play it with my wife if it was on game pass. Although this teenage TT was more annoying than funny. Dying Light could be cool too, never played the first one.

Voted for Dying Light 2.
