I got a 4GB update on the multiplayer, but the 25GB campaign one isn't downloading, hmmm.

Go to manage games, and select Halo. You have to check that you actually want the campaign downloaded

That ^ :)

11% done. It is slowing down now... Can you all wait and hit that pause button please!!!

Around the Network

My download is almost done. Maybe 5 more minutes.

What I'm trying to say is...suck it peasants!

How to install on PC. Feel like such a noob. It says "Ready to use in game. No download needed."

Start game, click campaign. Says preorder.

I told you why MS has that contract rule and its not going away any time soon. Basically MS was sued because they had contractors working at MS for a very long time, think of a decade in some cases. They did not provide contractors with benefit as full time employees which is why they hire contractors. Well MS lost that case and was forced to pay benefits for contractors if they were employed for a certain length of time. Now usually most contractors can get around this if they are employed by an agency which does pay the contractors benefits but most game developer contractors just get hired on direct. MS as a business hire a huge number of contractors and they put that policy in place because just like any big corporation, money trumps all. I believe that because of the court case MS lost, they cannot rehire that contractor for a certain length of time or pay benefits for that person.

That is precisely the problem, the greed of corporations. Much like green_sky above, I'm pretty darn anti-communism/socialism and pro-capitalism, but even I see the greed of mega corporations is a huge issue. MS should be giving contract workers full benefits for the duration of their contract. And they should definitely be putting contract workers names into the credits for their games.

You see it as greed but the whole contract industry is what it is.  Meaning that the reason people go the contract route is that you usually get paid higher and have flexibility to move and do what you want.  For the business side, they hire contractors because they do not need permanent personnel all the time and thus some contracts are seasonal.  This has nothing to do with consumerism and more to do with how the tech industry work in general not just MS.  I know this for a fact because I worked in my early days as a contractor.  Made a damn good bit of money that way because projects needed experienced developers to get things up and running. Most times you can contract out your work way more than permanent employees.  Actually just a recent job I was working for as a contractor the company wanted to hire me permanent but of course not at my contract pay rate. There are pros and cons to every situation but its not entirely all black and white.  A lot of companies use contract work to keep their total cost down because paying Benefits actually is very expensive.  I know the cost of the benefits that the company I work for pays me and its usually around 18K per head.

Then pay contractors benefits after 18 months Not like Microsoft is hurting for money.

Or make an exception for their gaming studios cause this is absolutely hurting their gaming studios and will continue to hurt them.

If you are going to pay them benefits then you might as well just make them permanent.  Its sounds easy but I am positive its not when it comes to such matters.  You might believe Benefits are cheap but actually its quite expensive for a corporation the size of MS.  Either way, I am not trying to justify more than inform that its a money issue and anytime its money its not a simple fix.  Either way, it just might be better to just not hire contractors.

Is someone aware if there's any patch note for the 4 GB multiplayer patch?
