Congrats, amazing numbers
I've yet to play it because I'm waiting for the Royal version.

My only question is are all of those 3.2 million units just the original Persona 5 shipments? Or is Persona 5 Royal included as well?

You don't even know how DQ XI sales stands in the West and even less digital sales numbers in every region. Square enix could right now bring update and tell that the switch version reached almost 1 million in sales WW and that is not even highly extrapolating to trying to make a point. Plus if SE didn't took so long to board on Switch with DQXI it could be way beyond than that. The same can be said for Atlus. Everybody could right now be celebrating a 5M instead of 3M. Oh well... Atlus at least realised all that switch potential by making Persona 5 scramble multiplat |
Not going to derail the Persona thread anymore other than to advise you to do some research. DQ11 on the Switch didn't chart on the top 20 NPD in September and barely made the top 10 switch games for that month. In October it was completely gone off that list. In Japan it was the lowest selling mainline DQ game per console. SQ will also likely not give an update on Switch sales as a whole because it will look weak saying it sold X amount next to a PR statement that would likely lump it into the existing 4 million reported last year. Since then it's been on sale for 20 dollars on PSN and Steam several times so the sku split will be harder to pin point anyways.
I am not interested in excuses like it took developers so long to get on board etc with this game. All we can really do is discuss the sales facts on this site and the fact is that it bombed on the Switch. I love the game and enjoyed getting the plat for it but at the end of the day I still understand that it didn't sell well on certain platforms.
But hey I am glad you get to play your scramble game. I would rather just get back to celebrating P5 success rather then the constant port begging by Switch owners for over a year on this forum. It's rather old at this point.
