So far I'm impressed with the gameplay, the design and the graphics. There really was a ton of work put into this game.
I need to try the Multiplayer soon.

Play about an hour last night. I plan to play more this weekend with the kids. I like it so far but I wish I could change how I could invert the controls.

Folks (certain ones) itched and moaned about Three Houses prior to release. Turned out to be a great game. I suspect the same is happening with Sword/Shield. Gamers complain too much is the main point of my comment. |
Yeah tbh we've seen this play out with prior games on the Switch the games have turned out fine regardless of what people moaned about.
I love how the HD rumble makes this certain sound when you suck up things.

Fire Emblem hate? what? no one hates that game series at all. |
Most of the FE haters are the smash fans.
Pocky Lover Boy!
What they've pulled off in executing the art direction is impressive as it's like a mixture of those 3d animation movies.
This game is a great example of why I think it's vitally important for Nintendo to secure external studios; despite a game using a Nintendo property it really has its own distinctive style and charm unique from EAD's games.

If you mean aiming up/down, maybe using the gyro might work better, have you tried that?

Stop complaining, just enjoy product and get excited for next product.
I switched to turn while poltergusting just for this reason, makes scanning an area with the darklight much smoother.

I second this. I would recommend (except to those who hate any kind of motion controls) the following settings:
Turn while poltergustering: On
R stick aiming: Horizontal only
Gyro sensitivity: 3
I just changed my settings to these and the improvement to control is revelatory.
I'm actually shocked that the first setting in particular isn't set this way by default.
