You want to know how the Nazis rose to power, just read through this thread. Excuses left and right just so people can justify continuing to buy games or support a company that goes back on its mission statement to make a few extra bucks.

And this isn't some grossly exaggerated comparison that some like to throw out for political points. This is pretty much a 1:1 comparison. Slave labor? Check. Concentration camps? Check. Atrocities against citizens they don't like or care for? Check. A leader that crowned himself emperor for life? Check. Complete censorship of anything that criticizes the leader and party? Check.

I hate CCP and Communism, i hate their recent ban, censorship on Blitz Chung but i love Diablo and Starcraft. I hate Activision and their loot box but new Call of Duty seems good so i will buy it as long there is no loot box , I hate censorship from Sony but not all of their games got censor anyway so i don't hate them , I hate EA, and their Loot Box but If they make a good Star Wars games, i will buy it.

SO in the end as much as we hate them and despise them in the end we are still gamer. Who is not affected while playing in front of our Monitor , eating doritos, masturbating on porn while becoming a keyboard warrior and trolling.

Gamer is gamer we are not Politician, we can boycott, we can give petition, we can stand up . But in the end we are gamer

Those who doesn't want brexit to go through deserve no sympathy from me here since it is hypocritical of them to single any other independence movements ...

Quite possibly the dumbest comment ive seen in a while.

Yeah I'll be boycotting Blizzard. No longer buying Overwatch on Switch and no longer play Overwatch on consoles I own already either. Haven't bought Call of Duty in years so I'm good on that front

Well I was going to get Overwatch on Switch, but not now.

to be fair I would also boycott a 30fps version of that game while Paladins has existed on the Switch for well over a year now and that's a locked 60fps always.

Why not check me out on youtube and help me on the way to 2k subs over at www.youtube.com/stormcloudlive

So easy to feel as you're right when your thinking is as shallow that you are able to connect brexit to hong kong for making an argument.

Gamers boycotting Blizzard due to a political stance (which China has everything to do about it) are not Gamers at all.
Honestly Blizzard has a massive Chinese market in China so its obvious why they are sucking up to the new laws.

That's fine I don't need to be called a gamer. Call me whatever you want at the end of the day Blizzard will no longer continue to receive my money or time in their games. If I lose the title of gamer so be it wont stop me from firing up Spiderman and finishing that up while I wait for that sweet Star Wars game coming in Nov.

There are so many things wrong with this comparison, that I'm more disappointed with it than disagree with it.

They're happening for different reasons.  EU and CCP are so far from eachother on the scale of problematic, that they are not even on the same map.
CCP is an authoritarian state that pushes for censorship, puts people in prisons for speaking out against the state, etc.

Hong Kong is fighting to maintain it's way of life, Brexit does the opposite.

I'm not against Brexit in the same way that I support Hong Kong.

I don't think Brexit is in the best interest of the UK.  It's not the end of the world though if it happens.

Similarly I don't think Hong Kong giving up is in their best interest.  But it's a lot more than that.  I think they're in danger if they give up.

Trying to pin these two events as if they are both simple independence movements, with no considerations of what either situation even entails, does a disservice to both.

And frankly it does a disservice to yourself.

I don't care. Neoliberal imperialism is still imperialism at the end of the day and I'm going to call people out for their exceptionalism ...

People backing the EU for defending their solidarity but chiding the CPC for protecting their own unity is hypocritical regardless of the reasons ...

What is 'authoritarian' is simply a matter of perspective and consensus between parties. Quite a few British people see the EU's authority as being overbearing thus they even went as far as democratically voting themselves out of a union. Hong Kong protesters for similar reasons find Chinese authority to be relentless and thus want a way out ...

Yet somehow these very same people who oppose brexit and argued in favour of unity also support Hong Kong independence. Now why on earth could this be ? Could it be because these very same people are ideologically opposed to the people behind brexit ?

If so then their position is indefensible from my point of view since they are acting out of pettiness to willingly violate the sovereignty of other entities that do not align with their ideology ...

Pick one of the above, nobody can have both ...
