Lol the switch lite won’t overtake the regular switch in total sales or weekly sales. I would even say that this time next year the og switch will still garner most of the sales

Wait. Is a lower price now a non factor? Since when? I'd bet money the Switch Lite will eventually outsell the Switch.

It’s a huge factor, but in reality, won’t make it a better seller than the normal switch which is overall a better system, and will have a price cut eventually as well. Also has a 37 million lead rn

You are forgetting one very important thing. The price of Switch games are $60. Getting a Switch and a game at Christmas just became a whole lot cheaper thanks to the Lite. Also The Switch will be around for a while. I think the Lite will eventually catch up.

Lol... and that my friend is a cop out. Ok, the vey name switch was becaue it could be used as a "home console" and a "handheld". Hence why the whole ybrid thing came about. Can you use the Switch lite as a home console? So what is it "switching" to?

Again, for the umpteenth time (and I am guessing this keeps coming up cause its the best way to dismiss what I am saying). I have never said, that the switch lite be counted differently. I am saying that it (the Nintendo Switch as a platform) being counted along with home consoles was and is a mistake to begin with. And I have been saying that since 2017. The reason its coming up again is that Nintendo just validated my point. They made a switch lite.

Right now? the switch as a platform has more in common with a handheld than a home console, and you don't have to take my word for it... in two years you will find that the switch lite is the better selling iteration of the Nintendo switch with the larger install base. You can chalk this off as yet another prediction I am making, the same way I said (back in 2017)that in under 3 years Nintendo will make a dedicated handheld version of the switch the second they try and make a cheaper version.

Are we just going to continue pretending that the Nintendo Switch lite is not a handheld in every traditional sense of the word?

You are soon wrong its hard to fathom.

You really believe that going forward the witch lite will not be the better selling SKU? Because people really want to spend $100 more to buy the other version of the switch?

...yes? It’s not like it is just the same switch 100 dollars cheaper. The novelty of switch is the hybrid feature. I am not wrong in the slightest, everywhere else on the internet from what I have seen no one thinks the lite is gonna be the main seller

You do know the normal switch isn’t gonna stop selling right?

This whole argument about the Switch lite being counted differently is stupid. Its not a new unique device. Its a PORTABLE ONLY SWITCH. Its still a Switch. Also everyone (NPD, Famitsu, Media Create) will combine them because they dont have weird agenda's, they just report data.

200 million, see? that's the bullshit lmao

Did 2DS outsell the other skus?

It doesn't have a unique lineup of exclusive games, so how can it be counted differently?

Yeah but it has no unique games so the vast majority of us won't double dip. If it had it's own lineup then yes that lower price would make it sell like crazy.

The other version that's bigger, now has a better battery, and can go on the tv? I think LITE will never sell as much as regular switch.
