I see what you did there. Well played OT, well played. |
This goes over my head, is this a reference to another post that I missed saying the same about a PS4 version?

Pre-ordered. Soon I'll have the best version of every main series offline DQ again.

I definitely would love that, as I love old-schoolturn-based RPGs.
Well, Switch still has not a single pre-7 Final Fantasy. A while back I fantazised about remaking the first six in the style of Octopath Traveler. That would be awesome. Please Square. |
That would be pretty rad. While I have mixed feelings about Octopath so far, I just love the art style. And FFVI is the one in the series I want to try most outside of X, so it'd be great to be able to play that on Switch at least in some form, but an Octopath-style revamp would pretty awesome. I do have an SNES Classic but it'd be sweeter to play it on the go too.

Hell yeah, the SNES JRPG golden age is coming back.

I have already played DQ11 about a year ago, on the ps4. I just stopped in to say anybody who hasn't played it should. The game is stellar. Modern graphics with old school rpg charm. I thought DQ11 was the finest jpg I have played in a decade. It isn't filled with overly nonsensical story elements. Just a straight forward great story with memorable characters and great battle system.

It's a straight-forward reference to the recent Ni No Kuni thread with its gloating that the PS4 receives a remastered version while the Switch gets a straight port of the PS3 game. Regarding the games, Ni No Kuni is quite a flawed JRPG while Dragon Quest XI has a rather stellar reputation. Remastered or not, I don't think many Switch owners would give a damn about Ni No Kuni, especially in such close proximity to Dragon Quest XI and with both games costing the same. If you want to engage in conspiracy theories, Ni No Kuni for Switch has all the ingredients for a game that was set up to fail because its publisher wants to bathe in confirmation bias. |
Ah, yeah I never saw that as I couldn't care less about Ni No Kuni and hence had to reason to visit a thread about it.
DQ11 isn't my cup of tea, but at least it has relevance in that it's probably the most substantial third party effort on Switch to date outside of Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle.
Btw, does anyone know how this has been tracking in preorders, is it headed for a decent opening?

All I know is that it's ranking 4th on the Amazon best sellers list for Switch games but other than that there not much to go on. It's DQ so don't hold on to any false hopes.

SE calls this version a remake, not a port.
