Hopefully within a few months. I left it right in the middle of my second playthrough (Blue Lions), but there's a few JRPGs I need to (re)play first: FF7R, Persona 5 The Royal, and probably another playthrough of FFXV before the novel comes out in June. If Xenoblade Definitive Edition gets released in that span too, that's another huge timesink. No rest for the wicked...

A slew of games came out so I had stopped to play those, but I recently picked it up again. Gonna finally finish Blue Lions on maddening, I had stopped my Fortress Knight only meme run halfway through after Maddening mode was announced. I wanna finish all routes on maddening, still Verdant Wind and Crimson Flower to do next, but that's definitely gonna be delayed thanks to Animal Crossing.
I decided against getting the DLC. Most it is just fluff like costumes and cat petting, and the only substantial part isn't that substantial, just 7 new chapters in a separate side story, and those chapters still end up reusing maps. I would like to play with the new classes especially as I find myself using the same 5 classes over n over, but eh.
I was playing the three routes simultaneously, until I discovered if you end one route you can keep your renown bonus in your next play-trough. So I stopped by Black Eagles house route at chapter 4 and will restart this journey twice after I finish my Blue Lions and Golden Deer routes.
I used Permadeath in both, but since I never played Fire Emblem before I must admit I really abused from rewind feature specially in my Golden Deer's route which was my first route, and really made me overwhelmed by game mechanics by somewhat I managed to make it work. My first Blue Lions playtrough was so disastrous that I restarted it after the chapter 6. Now I'm finally in chapter 14 of both routes and understand the game mechanics (and starting to find the game a bit easy in my restarted Azure Moon route) I won't use it anymore, and will accept my faith if some unit end dying
I want to try to play Silver Snow mostly with Knights of Seiros plus some members of other houses, and Crimson Flower with my original Black Eagles rouse members. I will play in hard mode this time (I was playing only in Normal so far), with permadeath activated and using it only if I click in a button by accident, never to correct a strategy error
Probably going to play: Azure Moon (currently playing) > Verdant Wind > Crimson Flower > Silver Snow, in this order
I'll probably speedrun Silver Snow, since it's mostly a Verdant Wind rip off from what I read. Planning to finish everything until June with some good 170 hours of gameplay (currently in 75 hours). I'll probably never play this game again lmao
So, all my saves so far:
1° Golder Deer/Verdant Wind: My first save and my favorite since I struggled a lot here. I stopped to play it once I hit the time skip, but my party is all alive, just severely undertrained. I think it's ok since I'm playing easy mode. The only character I recruited was Cyril, which is pretty useless since I trained him as a archer in a house where half of the members are archers. Currently in chapter 14, I'll finish it for good after I finish Azure Moon
2° Blue Lions/White Clouds: It was a disaster. I tried to mess with the units train and the outcome was a unsucessful party at the chapter 6, I deleted it while a go
3° Black Eagles/White Clouds: Played it very little (chapter 4 only) and I was skipping the most dialogues, I abandoned soon I discovered the New Game Plus. It's still there, but I'll delete it soon. Planning to play with New Game Plus and giving actual attention to the backstory this time
4° Blue Lions/Azure Moon: While playing this I discovered about new game plus but I didn't want too restart it again, currently playing at the end of chapter 14, I'll play until the end this time. I'm finding the game a bit too easy now my party is just too strong. That's why I'll playing in the hard mode next time.
Planned saves
5° Black Eagles/Crimson Flower: With a female protagonist, classic mode + hard + game plus
6° Black Eagles/Silver Snow: With a male protagonist, classic mode + hard + game plus

I played through it in February. Beat it on the Golden Deer route, and really enjoyed every minute of it. This is the first Fire Emblem game I played, so I'm kicking myself for not playing the N64, Gamecube, and Wii Fire Emblem games now. My backlog is too big at the moment to go back to it, but I really want to play through the Black Eagles route as some point. I was a bit annoyed I didn't have enough time to recruit Petra to my team. I rarely buy dlc's but I may buy it here to add some extra activities on a new game plus.

Well, there were no Fire Emblem games in the west until the GBA in 2003 and the series never appeared on the N64 even in Japan, so you can't be blamed for missing those games.

Ha yeah your right now that I looked into it, I must have remembered reading about the 64dd version that ended up getting cancelled.
I sure would like to play older Fire Emblems, but it's too bad Nintendo doesn't like money and would rather keep them locked away.
