I don't understand how you can qualify developping a peripheral like the Wii Fit board who can measure weight and your movement on it as a cheap cash-in.

Here's the way I see it: For me, this game fits into the same category as Wii Sports, Sonic & Mario, and ect. This game, like the others I mentioned, is a low budget game meant only to cash in on the Wii. Therefore, it's a cheap cash-in like the other games. If this were a third-party game doing the exact same thing, you guys would be calling it low quality party game BS.

Because Nintendo pays hardware expects to make a balance board, and fitness experts to develop the 'games' and routines and feedback responses, instead of a (larger) game design/graphic staff does not in any way make this cheap.  Fact it, since it's never been done it's likely cost more than an average game to produce.

Others have responded before me but since you were replying to me I'll reply too :

 - Wii Fit is NOT a low-budget game, even if you leave the development of the balance board out (which you shouldn't). Making all mini-games so they read your movement accurately requires a lot of effort.

- Wii Sports is not a cheap cash-in... to this day I haven't a Wii game where gestures are read as accurately as in Wii Sports.

- Cash-ins are games thrown together with a minimum of work and very few consideration for gameplay (as long as it kinda works it's ok for them)  Wii Fit and Sports just don't fall in that category.

300lb. Which should cover the vast majority of people.

If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy

Why the hell do you guys act as if I shot your grandmother? I didn't bash the game, I simply pointed out that BMI is a bullshit indicator is all. Calm down.

@johnsobas; recommended or no, the average western person has 25-40% body fat which puts me below the norm statistically. I'm not exactly slim, but I'm not fat either.
A proffessional soccer player has a body fat percentage of 8-10%, so who is telling you that this is desirable for commoners? Lofty target to be sure. Even bodybuilders and fitness athletes have 4-7%.

And, again; I was not bashing Wii Fit, I'm just surprised that most people don't realize how faulty BMI can be. A good old fashioned measuring tape is king, proportion is better than weight in most cases.

Here's to hoping that there are some good games in development that take advantage of the board.

Demon's Souls Official Thread  | Currently playing: Left 4 Dead 2, LittleBigPlanet 2, Magicka

there are at least 10 games in development for the board

dunno about the 'good' part yet
