Nintendo will announce that Pokemon SwSh is the last pokemon game made by gamefreak and that the pokemon games will now be handled by Bethesda.
What, let me dream!

......Shore, you are aware of FO76 right?

Or even without that, I don't want my Flygon's flying backwards.

FO76 wasn't handled by the main Bethesda studio, but yes i'm aware of the bugs, however i'd love to see a "Bethesda" pokemon world, with developed lore, a interactive story, a high budget and overall Bethesda freedom to do anything at any order. I would miss the turn based combat though.

I guess the bright side would be that the Pokemon anime that follows Sw/Sh would last longer as the project would be maybe done in 3-5 years.

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

I think most of their presentation will be elaborating on games that they have already teased (Animal Crossing, Link's Awakening, etc...).  There will be at most 1 - 2 first party games that we haven't heard announced yet.

However, I do think they will show a decent amount of third party games that have so far been unannounced for the Switch.  I also expect at least a couple Switch exclusives in this bunch.

I'm hoping for DLC for Super Mario Party and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. And Im hoping for a new 3D Mario game, perhaps Super Mario Galaxy 3

This happens every year, and it always ends badly.

I have no expectations, and I don't think you should either

It always ends badly ?

This is how it ended in 2017:

And in 2018:

2 of the best games of the Switch. How does it always end badly ?

Nintendo has started and ended the last two directs with a brand new game, but I don't think they will do that this time. I think Animal crossing will start off the direct, and if Retro has a new game that isn't MP4, that will end it.

I feel like E3 is the last chance for Retro to announce a game they supposedely were working before metroid

If nothing is announced, then I think its safe to assume that they did shit for the past 5 years, and everything they were working on was cancelled.

in short i'm wishing for a plethora of AAA scope single player games like breath of the wild, mario odyssey or darksiders 3 in hopes that i'll find some games i'm really in to. preferably open world. What i'm expecting is simply not that. I predict we'll get info an games already announced and 1 or 2 new games that are fairly outdated. A new $60 2d platformer that may look better than most of the games on the eshop, but don't hold the same vallue (i take hollow knight for $15 over the $60 dollar kirby/yoshi/dk any day), or maybe a new $60 on rails star fox game. It's def more fun to wish so i'll be a little more engaging on that. Way more unrealistic though;
-Dark siders 3 on switch coming march of 2020 which now completes the series thus far on switch.
-New star fox that combines ghost recon wildlands and starlink. Its a 4 player 3rd person co-op shooter in the vain of ghost recon wildlands. Still can be played single player and internet is not required. Vehicles are obviously more star fox themed and upgrading vehicles happens by scavenging parts from space pirate fights. Those fights occur in space while traveling between the planets you must liberate just like starlink. The liberation missions are the wildlands part of that wasn't obvious.
-New kid icarus that's set in an open world setting like breath of the wild, but with the sky villages of skyward sword. Very much plays like a zelda or metroid with places to explore and new items to aquire.
-New sonic game in the style of mario odyssey. Sega announces that it has contracted the guys behind the sonic hero and sonic utopia fan projects from youtube to consult. Great day for indie gaming and great day for sega's PR. I'll be just a little more selfish and say the story is based on the sonic cartoon/comic from the 90's. Not the funny one with the chicken and dozer, but the darker one with the freedom fighters and Sally.
-Nintendo goes halloween CRAZY (my fav holiday) and announces that there will be a new release every week in october leading up to luigi's mansion on oct 25th. The month will start off with fatal frame 4HD. Physical release and released for the 1st time in the US on oct 4th. Oct 11th sees the release of eternal darkness on the eshop for $30. on Oct 18th, fatal frame V releases physically for the 1st time in the US. And as mentioned, luigi's mansion releases on oct 25th seeing a return to it's sandbox form of the original.
-Yokai watch 4 gets announced for early december as a thought to be second tier title released between animal crossing and pokemon... 2 games i have 0 interest in. New yokai battle system looks much more interesting. Finally the obligatory 3rd party sizzle real reveals actual AAA games like biomutant and other newly announced games are coming to the switch day and date. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaand that's it finally. I'm tuckered out, but that was fun. Almost carthardic. :) thanks op. Also, sorry for the probable wall of text. Seems like when i format with paragraphs they never show up in the post. Guess i'm ignorant to something posting wise.

i should clarify that the switch has some games i'm looking forward to. Particularly luigi's mansion and astral chain. They just seem to be severely lacking in large scope/open world single player adventures. Really too bad about metroid.
