They just announced today that it sold 4.2 million.

Feb 2017-915k

Dec 2017-2 million (~1.1m in 10 months)

August 2018-3 million (1m in 8 months)

March 2019-4.2 million (1.2m in 7 months)

Looks like sales are picking up.

I think these last 7 months will be the peak for PSVR1 performance as a lot came together with Astro Bot receiving high praise from everywhere, Beat Saber releasing, bundles at $199, holidays etc etc. hopefully it can keep a pretty steady pace into the next gen and I expect PS5 to be compatible with it. PSVR2 probably will come 1-2y after that and hopefully will be able to display PSVR1 games aswell.

Sure  It might start to decline from here but I was just showing that the current trend is upward while he was saying it's likely declining.

*Sony shows lots of new Vita stuff*

Vita sCePtIcS "hah, another sign that Vita is dead"

.... ohh wait...

Not a VR skeptic, thanks. I just believe that VR won't ever be more than a niche product with a loyal fan base that feverishly defends it. It's not skepticism to recognize that Sony missed yet another golden opportunity to announce PS VR's overall sales, and instead decided not to, which likely means that it hasn't surpassed 4 million in sales yet, which indicates that PSVR sales are already slowing -  just like the Vita was when Sony announced around a dozen vita titles at E3 that year.

But hey, please feel free to mock and deride anyone that isn't a diehard VR fan, as if that doesn't support my opinion.

Edit: overall I agree with you though, it will remain a relatively niche accessory with a loyal fanbase.

I didn't see that. My bad.

I swear if Sony keeps doing like this, their position in the market will be endangered.

please, do tell how so.

I'd love to, but I don't have to explain myself to you.

Nintendo should had told people that they showed a Labo on Nintendo Direct  last year.

I'm not sure what your point is?

If you are saying Sony should have told people that they will shows VR stuff, then Nintendo should have told people on last year nindi Direct that they will shows Labo

Labo has never been in a Nintendo Direct, they have all had their own seperate announcement.

Did they?  what i know they shows Labo on Nindy Direct last year. And many fans are disappointed.

After giving the Sony direct a little more thought, Im lowering my score to 1.5/10.

They really need to step up their game.

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

Release dates for Blood and Truth, Everybody's Golf VR, and Vacation Simulator.

Best trailer so far for Days Gone.

Concrete Genie for the Fall.

I was very pleased with the conetent on hand. I am going to be spending a lot of time with PSVR over the next few months, with all the great experiences lined up.

Personally, I would have perfered to have a person introducing stuff, with creators talking about their titles like we see from Microsoft and Nintendo. I didn't really feel like any love went into making this. Just makes Sony look totally disconnected from their users too me.

I was hoping we would hear something about at least one of the big three, but I can understand they want Days Gone to have the spot light at the moment. At this point I am starting to feel like I will just hold off on playing GoT, TLOUPII, and DS until PS5 arrives. Why waste my time playing in 1440p/30, when within a few months I will be able to play at 4K/60. Thats's just my feelings.

I agree with virtually everything you said. I was pretty disappointed and surprised about how short it was, but I’m hyped about all the upcoming VR games, esp Blood and Truth. Days Gone trailer was definitely the best one yet and was surprisingly good. And Concrete Genie continues to look really good.

The reactions are what you expect, drivel. That only means that this State of Play was successful.

Well it's s hot take with zero substance so I didn't expect you to be able to explain

Pointless to ask, too. Wasting both of our times.

Nope, the initial announcement for Kit 1 & 2 was a 7 minute video dedicated to Labo and before it released they said, "tune in for a new product for kids and kids at heart" or something like that. Kit 3 was randomly announced with a YouTube video and Kit 4 was announced through a press release and a video uploaded to YouTube a few days later.

None of them were included in a Direct.
