You really don't know how the military works and the many non-combatant roles there are do you? I only ask that because if you did you'd know those are ridiculous questions to ask.
Killing is wrong. Signing up in the hopes to receive a better life when you have no other options doesn't make you a "killer."
I don't agree with war or anything like that but I can fully understand the reason someone in poverty with no prospects might look into signing up purely for the benefits, especially when they know they won't have to kill people.
