Massimus - "Trump already has democrat support."

Around the Network

Beto raised $6.1 million in the first 24 hours, which is higher than Bernie did

Glad to see he is doing very well. Ultimately I think this race will come down to Beto vs Biden vs Bernie. I really hope Beto wins it, he has the charisma to be a Obama imo. Its sad seeing all the Bernie squad going full attack on him.

I was seriously blown away from his 1 day take.  It shows a lot of promise for his campaign's longevity in keeping up with the bigger names that will draw lots of big donor money.

The attacks are definitely bothering me.  And not just on him but on Tulsi Gabbard and others.  With such a huge field of candidates and long way to go, attacking each other serves us no purpose at this point.  In fact, I'd truly prefer they stayed clean against each other because anything negative they say against each other will get used by Trump.  And could harm potential running mate pairing.

Yang is the only one who has my support at this point. His campaign was my first political donation.

I kind of hope Biden doesn't run.

I have a strong feeling that Beto will win this one.  Though, I'd prefer Bernie winning.

Early going, I'd like a Sanders/Gabbard team. But it's so early and there is so much more to learn about each of them. I'm pretty open to most of them but I have written off Warren already. She has too much baggage to fight against now.

But what makes him charismatic? I have heard others say it, but no one can quantify it.
With Obama, it's obvious: he's one of the world's greatest speakers, and can put together great speeches. Beto lacks both these traits, all I see of him is a struggle to put together a coherent 5 minute speech, and LOTS of rapid hand gestures, like he is trying to spoof Hitler.

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

Obama is not a great speaker. Watch his debates, he was blown away by Hillary in 2008 and even Romney, to some extent, in 2012.

But he is charismatic. Same can be said about Trump really. So it's not about speeches.

In fact it just goes to show how the debates are nearly useless, indeed, everyone picks up favorites beforehand based on gut feeling.

He just extremely likeable, just like Obama was. He might not have Obama's speeching ability, but he actually did a good job against Cruz in debate. He will just need to control he hand gestures a bit better. But in the end, I don't think that will matter much.

I think at least one woman will have a very good shot in the race, middle aged women are after all the biggest voter group for the democrats.
