Forums - Gaming Discussion - Best boss fights of this gen

I'll wait for Sekiro to decide the finale, but God of War's Baldur was one of the best. What about those machines from Horizon though, Redmaw/Thunderjaw was also a great boss battle not really hard but still cool to think I'm fighting a Mech-T Rex. And there's Bloodborne's Maria and then Orphan of Kos, only reason I added him was because of him, DS3 was a cakewalk, I forget but I'm sure I've played more, these four are the only one's on top of my head.

Wonder if Sekiro will be heavily mentioned in this list soon. Quite a few soulsborne mentions here.

Considering that Dark Souls literally invented the action genre and that there hasn't been a good action game in the last 8 years that wasn't a Soulslike I wouldn't be surprised. From Software are the only ones who know how to make cathartic bosses because it says on the back of the box "Prepare to Die".

Nioh has by far the best boss fights.
Nothing comes close.

Why not name some? I beat the standard game(no dlc) and the only memorable fight was the lightning dog.

Medeus, from Tokyo Mirage Sessions: #FE

Thinking of different ones most you guys have already mentioned.

The first time you fight a Dragon in DA:I.
The hardest cauldron in Horizon (it has a T-rex and Tiger there).

Hmm, pie.

Holy crap, yeah. I remember just entering the area... Hearing those wings beat... Makes you feel like an ant in comparison.

It's the scream that got me. Loud screech which wasn't like usual 'roars' in fiction. Plus the way it moved, reacted to where you were attacking it.

And since this game has no easy mode(coop and extensive statbuffing) we might this time get very prepared to die. :p

Oh man, between Souls III and Bloodborne alone, it would be hard to pick just one. I would have to go with:

-The King of Storms/Endless King (Dark Souls III): One of the most epic boss fights, period!
-Shadows of Yharnam (Bloodborne): I had an incredibly tough time with this fight, but it was so much fun learning how to do it!
-Rom the Vacuous Spider (Bloodborne): I'm so terrified of spiders in real life, but I love playing games with them so....figure that out.
-Deacons of the Deep (Dark Souls III): A pretty easy boss fight, but I loved it!
-Donkey Kong boss fight in New Donk City (Super Mario Odyssey): Definitely easy, and it barely qualifies as a boss fight, but it was just really fun, and cool!
-Nightmare King (Hollow Knight).
-Red Wine Drunk Randy (South Park: the Fractured But Whole)

Admittedly this is a little lamer than other boss fights people have brought up but I really enjoyed Dark Beast Ganon in BotW
