Happy Birthday Switch and Breath of the Wild!

Strange, for me was 2018 better than 2017. But I am not restricted to big first party titles. Civilization VI, Okami, Katamari Damacy, Dragon Quest Builders, Octopath Traveler, Monster Hunter Generations, Armello and Ys VIII are among my most beloved games, so 2018 was actually excellent and better than 2017, which had with BOTW surely one of the best titles ever but not the big amount of good titles. |
My experience was very much like yours. I played Zelda and Puyo Puyo Tetris a lot early in 2017, but then I wasn't particualrly interested in much more until Mario + Rabbids, and that was it for 2017. In 2018, I had plenty more to play including DQ Builders, Octopath Traveler and Valkyria Chronicles 4, all of which are long games with a ton of content. It may also have been luck, but the smaller/indie game(s) I tried out in 2018 I liked better than the ones I tried in 2017. And there are still big games from 2018 (like Civ 6) which I haven't even gotten around to trying yet.
So Zelda was a great way to start, but I feel like Switch is really going now. All of the third party games mean I don't have to worry about gaps and waiting for a new release.
curl-6 bet me that PS5 + X|S sales would reach 56m before year end 2023 and he was right.
