Game is disappointing, i'm absolutely shocked(not really). How is the "here is an empty Shell of a game for$60 now pay more money for more content" games as service model suprising at this point

My understanding is that all DLC for Anthem will be free, so the pay more piece is a bit moot - with exception of course to the cosmetics microtransaction store that is a staple in these games these days.

I think the Origin/EA Access early release hurts these reviews a lot more than it helps them.  There is a massive "day 1" patch coming this Friday that addresses a lot of issues that have had an impact on the reviews that didn't need to without the early access.

I myself am enjoying the game, but definitely question its staying power.

Loved the demo, the gameplay is top notch. I even went to the preorder page on my Scorpio yesterday morning and was thinking of preordering... but even on the preorder page they try to sell you shards to buy shit in the game. Fucking pass. I’m sick of these games where you pay $60 and get nickel and dimed for shit day one. I’ll gladly wait a few months to pick it up at $20 or so just to play through it once.

There’s GaaS, then there’s the shit EA and Ubisoft do. Microsoft and Sony have dipped their toes in with sports and racers but thankfully it’s gone in Forza and limited to The Show in Sony’s side.

edit, forgot about EA Access, I can always try that 10 hour trial assuming it has one. And it will be in that vault eventually.

This game may have fared better if it was a dedicated single player title like Bioware are more know for instead it's going to be seen as the second mishap in a row following the ME:A debacle and often this type of run ends up in a studio's demise at EA, they best get Dragon Age right.

100% sure it would have.

Im tired of all this multiplayer focused, GaaS crap.
Then you get nickel and dimed ontop of it too, while its 60$.

Like seriously, just give me a good single player game, where everything is there day1.
I dont want to be sold half a game, and have to wait for dlc updates ect.

A well made Dragon Age game by them would be a instant buy.
If this game (anthem) ends up killing Bioware, that ll be sad.

Waiting a year for it to be under $30 and has more content.
There can only be so many fails untill big publishers realise that GAAS face is done.

Wow this year will be disappointing for Xbox/Ps4. The end of their life cycle just feels like games that got rushed to up on faster on the next gen kits.

If true, I could forgive the current lack of content and I believe the gamers who refuse to buy it now cuz the lack of content will problably change their mind a couple of content patches later at no extra cost, if not a discount as all games get after a few months on the market.

I dint touch destiny 2, But how was the pricing for the DLC for that game? Since I hear it took like 2 to get it to destiny 1.

GAAS is not a phase, it will stay for the foreseeable future but like with everything else it have to be done right. Releasing such a bare bone game with a 60$ tag is not the right way

That's a very weak excuse when you have f2p games with  free content updates and free dlc.

I am not making an excuse for anything with the DLC statement.  Just informing.

The early access thing also isn't an excuse, it is a valid reason why the game is currently being raked over the coals.  If the game released with the "day 1" patch it is getting a week after its soft release it might be reviewing better.

Let me put it this way, these types of games are meant to retain all your time and money, so if you are not #1 your not doing good. maybe the next 2 will do barely ok. But that dosent help since we get so many of these a year. I mean, EA just launched 2 of these in less than a month. Thats just crazily.

Well I have zero interest in multiplayer, so waiting for more content and reduced price is not an issue for me. Will still play this game since cuz the flying mechanic has grabed my attention.
