A lot of footage that wasn't shown in the Gamtrailers TV episode...
A couple questions for T, and if he can't answer, we'll understand.
1. Is this the Unreal 3 engine or something else.
2. The faces seem to be more cartoony. Was this an artistic decision to avoid the uncanny valley (which I would say is working).
Not a question, I just hope the Wii version also has some work put into making it nice, since we're seeing developers looking at the Wii as more than just a PS2/GC with waggle.
EDIT: Forgot question 3. Is there a penatly for crossing the streams (unless you're supposed to).
A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

1. 1000 objects? That's like those crazy barrels videos of Crysis.
Also, if it's true that the Cell can do physics better, due to its speed, that would be just about the only thing that would make sense of that comment on having twice as much on screen on the PS3.
2. Well the game does look fairly realistic in the background, but it's of course a lot easier to do that with inanimate objects than faces.
3. Well if they are working on the Wii first, that is at least something.

The 360 handles the 1000+ objects just fine too.
The Infernal Engine was actually made for the PS3 first and then ported over for the 360, PC, and Wii so it works pretty well on every platform.
Also, ours is in real times while the Crysis thing wasn't. I remember I found the cap on the amount of active objects I could put in a scene when those Crysis videos first came out but don't remember what those were anymore. I just remember just keeping putting stacks of 250 books in a level until my 360 crashed. I never got around to trying on the PS3 mainly because I don't have a PS3 test kit in my office.
Aren't they crossing the streams around 3:30 ?
Nothing "bad" seems to happen.

1. What I mean is that, well have you heard about the comment, from someone in your company, that if the PS3 was the sole platform for this, twice as much would be put on screen?
2. On the Wii too. So does that mean it's scaleable? And what about Velocity? How versitle is that?
3. I think the Crysis videos were used with PC hardware, give that the game isn't on the home systems now.

Yeah, I heard about that comment and it is completely true the PS3 can do more physics at a time but do you really need that many? I know there's one space where I have about 400-500 physics object active but I can't imagine needing more than that. There are a few outside parts where I have A LOT going on but being limited on physics objects hasn't been my problem.
So yeah, the PS3 can do more but you don't always need more. Like the space above with 400-500 physics objects I just couldn't imagine putting more in there. I have plenty of memory left to do so if I needed to but the space is already pretty crowded. It also helps if you do things effeciently and clean up areas you're done with.
I assume it all works on the Wii including Velocity. I've personally never had a reason to fiddle with it but I'm pretty sure it all works on there. I imagine it just can't do nearly as much as 360 and PS3.
As for the Crysis video, those were done in whatever their simulation mode was, they aren't really running in real time. I forget what it's called or how it's done because I've never played Crysis, I just remember it isn't actually done in real time.

1. I was just asking for clarification.
2. Not claiming the Wii could do all that. Just wanted to know if it would even fit. It's to see about my contention that the Wii is a reduced spec 7th gen system, not a slightly suped-up 6th gen system.
3. Well of course that couldn't be done in the actual game. I was more wondering about that physics engine compared to your company's.

Personally, I won't get it because I don't like horror games at all, or anything scary, which is why I may have to stay away from gears, but I watched the GT TV, coverage, and it does look very nice. However, I don't really get the structure, is it a series of missions, or do you get a bit of free roaming, or just to drive the ghostbusters vehicle
