Forums - Gaming Discussion - Re2 would've been better with the classic camera

No.

It's perfect the way it is.

It's my most anticipated game by far. GOTY contender for sure.

@conina

All RE games on GC would have sold millions more on the PS2.

They were flops.

This is coming from someone who loved the GC.

I do miss the old camera style, and I do believe that Capcom is trying to half arse it with fans of the original. That said, I don't mind the change, but I would definitely jump for joy if they gave us the option to run the game in RE2 camera mode.

So pay up motherfuckers you belong to "V"

Personally I wouldn't touch it with a ten feet pole if it had the classic camera style
The only horrifying thing for me with the past Resident Evil games was the fixed camera setting.
If there were an option to toogle between the two for those who simply prefer the old style then great, but alas there is not

And they would have even sold more going multiplat... as every other game.

By that definition every exclusive game is a flop.

Please, no.

Here's the classic RE camera for you:

Man I miss classic RE cameras.

Funny parody, but I also laugh at Over the Shoulder and cringe dialogue, that still has yet to evade any RE game to date.

Remake sold 1,4 million
RE0 sold 1,1

Mikami thought the old mechanics were hurting sales and changed the series with 4

4 sold 1,6 million (only 200,000 more than remake)

Mikami left capcom when they decided to port the game to the ps2

4 sold 2,2 million in the ps2

They changed the style and the sales didn't change a lot

Doesn't seem like much of a difference.

That's the point, they changed the mechanics, removed the classic camera and sales didn't change

Actually, RE4 sold 3.6 million on PS2 and 2.2 million on Wii.

And the fact that RE0 (a new game) sold less than the REmake suggests that the old mechanics weren't working anymore.

siphon filter launched, and resident evil didn't change

RE changed when remake sold badly in the gamecube and they decided to change the mechanics just to see re4 flop on the gamecube as well

Resident evil had pre rendered environments that pretty much dictated your use of camera angles.
