I am not so sure. I think they had Yoshi title almost ready for 2018, and it was pushed back to 2019 due to marketing / calendar. The same happens with New Super Mario Bros Deluxe of course, which could have been out in 2018 but they have set the release window for January 2019 to keep Switch moment from Christmas and Smash in the beginning of 2019

Does anyone know if the resident evil games are going to be eshop only?

Totally different situations, Yoshi was officially stated like 2018. game and than was delayed, NSMBU DX from start was stated like 2019. game, while Metroid Prime 4 and Bayonetta 3 never were stated like 2018. or 2019. games, they dont have year of release just "TBA" (to be announced).

Hard to tell, Revelations 1/2 were eshop only in Europe, but had physical release in US and Japan, you never know with Capcom.
