Its the big 70 for DS and PSP pushing past the 33 million mark.  Gratz to both systems, one for DS hitting such a high mark and PSP for actually dragging me away from my DS these past few weeks (I loves my Crisis Core:FF7, and MGS:PO) One big question, do people think DS is going to keep going?  If it does push past the sales on PS2? Or if not will there be a new DS2 this year?  Or just a redesign? 

Also one question I don't think has been brought up since launch of the DS/PSP is the comment that DS would be the last cart based system from Nintendo, does anyone think they might change that plan now that DS has took off like it has?

Well, cart based was great because piracy was harder, now that has been broken a bit, so I could see Nintendo comming out with a disc-based one in 2-3 years.

I believe we will see one more re-design, and then 2 years untill next one, but that is solely random guessing.

Only a matter of time before DS catches the mighty PS2.

i will not be surprised to see psp hiting 45 million by the end of the year

The PSP is doing amazingly well. To be able to grab over 30% of the market with a system like the DS out there is insane!

 It better start increasing sales more if thats going to happen, I'd say 40 to 42 million by end of 08.

Hell no to a disc based system. The last thing I need to carry are discs waiting to get scratched. Not only that, they drain the battery a ton more than flash memory. Nintendo would not be getting any money from me if they went to optical discs for games on their next portable.
