Thanks for the big contribution!

Would you happen to be able to give me the monthly sales for PS2 in 2005? I'm going to do a 2005 vs 2018 comparison thread and I'm missing a couple months.

Can do!

Here's everything for the PS2 in 2005, in thousands of units.

Yes you can clearly see here when Sony was able to get more supply in stores as evidenced by January, February and March’s huge numbers. Awesome numbers. Thank so for this shadow. :)

No problem.

Yeah, while PS2 Slim shortages hurt them during the 2004 holiday season, Sony was able to make up for most of it during Q1 '05. The PS2 sold 1520k that quarter, up 52.8% from Q1 '04. It was the PS2's best non-holiday quarter ever. The boost didn't last, as Q2 '05 was up only 10.5% YoY and Q3 '05 was up only 1.4%, but the Slim did provide a net boost to sales for a few months, albeit a delayed boost thanks to the Holiday '04 shortages.

How much was it up in Q4?

As long as the PS5 is a decent console, PS4 doesn't stand a chance against PS2.

It's pretty crazy how long PS2 continued to have strong sales, in 2007 it outsold both PS3 & PSP in the US.
