Forums - Gaming Discussion - Switch version of Dead or Alive Xtreme 3: Scarlet is not censored, PS4 version will be missing several 'features'

Oh FFS......Maybe I WILL trade in my PS library to EB for $16000 worth of store credit. Then sell my PSN account. I suppose that would make it PC or burst.

With the recent Nintendo Waifu focus, perhaps they are trying to ensure they have good relations with Team Ninja so they can have their own 'Nintendo Waifu Volleyball'. Even without jiggle yourself features I suspect people would want to buy it.

The Democratic Nintendo fan....is that a paradox? I'm fond of one of the more conservative companies in the industry, but I vote Liberally and view myself that way 90% of the time?

I remember thinking it would be a good thing for sony to just open psvr to porn games, as there isn't as much concern for a "family" image in the brand

Well, things changed lol

Wow, Sony really want to hand the next gen to MS with their BS, don't they? First MS committed PR suicide with their 24 hour DRM and anti-used games policies, and now Sony are driving people away with their censorship.

I would've thought Sony would be smarter than to piss off their fans by doing stupid shit after the Xbox One's disastrous reveal, yet here we are.

No one should have the amount of money that would generate. Its just too much for a single company to handle.

This feels like the Flash messed with the timeline again.

Sony should move to the US already, they already hate their Japanese roots and pandering to the west is all they do anyway these days.

I have to say I agree. Obviously the reverse is also dangerous—Nintendo can be parochial to a fault—but accommodating western audiences (and western mores) so forcefully has made Sony a lot less interesting as a publisher/taste-maker.

How can I buy this game once it's out? So far, I understand it's JP only.

For Switch, you need to create an account that is for the Japan region. that gives you access to the Japanese eshop and then you can buy this game. i believe you'll need to buy a Japanese Eshop card though, i don't believe they take any credit/debit cards that aren't from that region. I'm sure there is some good youtube videos out there that give you a step by step tutorial on all this stuff. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4R4IQ8yOt8w maybe this one, didn't watch it.

If you want physical (I think they are doing physical on this game), you can buy Japaneses games from places like play-asia.com or Amazon.jp. No mention yet if they plan to include english in these versions, so I'd double check that.

Gonna try for physical on this one. Thankfully Switch is region-free last I checked.

Yes, the average video game fan is going to jump to Xbox in mass because obscure Japanese games have had perversion features removed--even though Xbox doesn't have these games to begin with.

Is there a source to say this censorship was called for by Sony?

I'm not doubting the possibility but I find it strange considering how much mature content is on the system. The Witcher 3 wasn't censored. After the rumors of censorship for Nier: Automata, perhaps because of internet uproar, that game and the protagonists buttcheeks weren't censored either. The Last of Us 2 has shown girl on girl action in its previews.

Is this a move by the publisher, because they might have thought a mainstream audience in NA couldn't handle the extra booby physics, where as a secondary demographic like that on the Switch my find it as a good selling point since they get something the original release didn't?

I have no stake in this since I find the content silly, but I'd like to know if Sony is really at fault here?
