Forums - Nintendo - Nintendo's FY3/2019 2nd quarter meeting (Minecraft bundle announced, Octopath 1 million+ sold, Mario Party 1.5M+ sold)

1.5 million units for Mario Party is a very good number, though depending on when they stopped tracking it, as they just say that it refers to a vague "october", those numbers can either be seen as very good or excellent.Either way, with Holidays right around the corner, those numbers should get a huge boost soon enough.

Edit:just saw the LT sales of previous titles, and came to the conclusion that thge comment I just made should be completely ignored.Outside of 2 titles that sold like crazy, most didnt pass the 3 million mark, which Super Mario Party will definely pass.So congrats to the title, you have pulled some really impressive numbers!

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

Holy crap!Looking at the chart for Mario tennis Aces, the momentum and sales of the titles compared to previous entries is just insane!Depending on how well this game ends up selling LT, it might become an important franchise for Nintendo.Likely not like Mario Kart obviously, but will be significant nevertheless!

We will definitely see Nintendo going back to mass producing Mario sports games after that. The sales of Aces is truly crazy.

Not a single word on LABO

"Octopath Traveler sold 1m digitally within first 3 weeks "

Hold on, Im confused by this statement. At the three week mark, Square announced that Octopath had sold 1 million units globaly. So Nintendo must be wrong. All those sales cant be 100% digital. There must have been some confusion here.

But if they mean that Octopath has sold 1 million just in digital sales, and god knows how much more physically.... then HOLY SHIT!That would make for a monster hit.

Edit:Seems that the person who said that was wrong indeed. The slides state as Square stated in the past, which is the total.

When tracking sales unless stated otherwise it is pure phisical sales. That means octopsth had a very high digital ratio...

The graph showing the sales fromApril to September (Q1-Q2), has something wrong. We don't see the 2 Q result 1,88 and 3,19

"For Nintendo Labo, the new kind of play offered by Nintendo, there are now three different Toy-Con kits on offer: the Variety Kit and the Robot Kit, released in April, and the Vehicle Kit, released in September. We have seen how consumers who purchase Nintendo Labo appreciate the unique experiences it offers. Our expectation is that sales will accelerate because Nintendo Labo is a product that people can choose to buy as a gift for kids during the holiday season much like a regular toy".

Graph shows sell through sales, while their number (1.88m and 3.19m) are shipped.

Ok, I probably won't input all of my thoughts about this much info to be honest.

- Octopath selling this well (3 weeks like listed previously) is incredible. A bit sad we can't get more accurate numbers (we'll need SE !). This also means VGC obviously undertracked this game sales number.

- Mario Tennis Aces is doing crazy, I mean ace gameplay (plz, don't kill me) certainly help in that department :D Now, I'm actually inclined to say they might go visit another popular Mario sport franchise ... :3

- SMP is already doing crazy well for it's respective series !

Also  " Le plat de résistance " :

-Nintendo not dropping prices on their main games

HA ! Better keep that high value to not devaluate their IP's worth than selling it for cheap in the bargain :P

Most games follow the natural devaluation of the game in the secondhand market. But even used, ninty's titles rarely drop price fast.

And now we know why Square Enix went all in with Final Fantasy on Switch. Cause if Octopath can sell that much, then definitely Final Fantasy can do the same.
