Goty

For sure. It's basically RDR2 at 97 vs God of War 4 at 94 right now for GOTY, there are no other games that are true contenders. With a 3 point difference, it would be a tragedy if GoW 4 actually took GOTY at the VGA's this year.

xD?

Damn. I expected a 95 or so but 98 on Opencritic? My only two gaming goals for the rest of the year are to beat RDR2, and GoW so I can decide if they belong on my top 50 list, and if so, where exactly.

Well God of War is one of the best games I've ever played, so that's definitely deserving of a place on many people's top favorite game list.

I gave it a 9.5/10 (So in line with Metacritic sans the clear troll reviews) giving it a place at #21 on my all-time list. Red Dead Redemption is currently holding a 9.4 at #23. So this will be close!

BotW vs RDR2 shouldn't even be a debate.

I am curious to think why its not a debate in your eyes?

I think he's trying to imply that the two games are so different in tone and gameplay that, aside from being open world, they shouldn't be compared. At least that's what I hope, because it's a fair assertion.

If he's trying to say one is clearly better than the other or one of them suck? Well, he's wrong.

The scary part about the dude meaning that one is clearly better than the other is the high probability that he hasn't played either game lol

That way of thinking is the real tragedy ...

Obviously I meant that on a personal level, as I personally found GoW 4 overrated (it's a solid 9/10 game, but not worthy of the many perfect 10 reviews it got imo). If GoW 4 does win GOTY, there will be some backlash from R* fans for sure, but it wouldn't be a tragedy for the majority most likely.

GOW was my game of the generation. large open world games  are fun, but i always get bored of them at some point. speaking of GOW how is the combat in this game because the original red dead was a snooze fest with no challenge.

Interest for others can be low. Like I said, not everyone on the planet is going to grab the game. It's not everyone's cup of tea.

My interest is low because they haven't released a PC version, and going by their radio silence on that part, my interest will continue to remain low.

You know, when you say "I really want this game/these games but they don't come out on the one system I play on", that's not a hint to dig your heels in and be pedantic, it's a hint that maybe you should expand your horizons a bit. If you really love games that you can ONLY get on PS4 or Switch, then maybe get a PS4 or a Switch?

This is exactly why I have no respect for 'PC Master Race' people. It's fine to like one console/platform over another and it's even completely fine to extol its virtues, but this is just sad. "Master-Race" Mentality is the last holdout of the console wars and it needs to stop. Switch is great, PS4 is great, Xbox One is great, and all consoles have their pros and cons. cut it out.

Bingo. So many absolute classics on Nintendo and Sony platforms this gen.

Anyway my prediction wasn't far off for this. On vizioneck i predicted 97 as my high end guess and 96 as my most likely guess. Think low end I said 94. Looks like i was in the right ball park.

Can't say I'm surprised with the great score, even though it isn't the type of game I care most, R* games usually review great and have strong following.
