Switch not going well.
20 million seems unreachable.

How much has it sold this year so far? It sold 16 mil in year one right? I thought Second year was up

16m is it's first 13 months, as it includes march 3rd to march 31st 2017. Last FY the Switch sold 14.3m to consumers.

It is up so far this FY, ~4.8m this fiscal year compared to 3.97m for the same period last fiscal year. Still 4.8m in the first 6 months of the fiscal year isn't great when you want to ship 20m. Even if it sold 10m for october-december and another 3m for January-March they still need another 2.2m somewhere. I mean they can ship a little more than they sell to consumers but not that much.

You're saying it's only sold 4.8M since April? Seems kind of low, is that about normal for consoles?

I'd love if Shadow1980 was in here

So, with a $299 price tag, 5 years of age, and Pro shortages, PS4 got its second best September this gen.

The power of exclusives. Really impressive.

Looking forward to the Spidey WW sales update. I'm thinking 6-7M but closer to 6M.

It's not really low at all, the only reason we're talking about the number negatively is the massive expectations thrown on the system by Nintendo and others. 20m Forecast, or the many users on here who tipped the Switch to beat the PS4 this calendar year (it actually might come fairly close still!), or that one guy that thinks Switch is going to outsell the PS2.

For comparison PS4 sold about 5.7m since April and XBO sold about 2.9m. 4.8m is actually quite the achievement especially without releasing any big games, it's just not enough to hit lofty expectations.

Yeah I assumed that it was about below PS2/GBA/Wii/PS4 but above other consoles ... since that has been how Switch has been tracking for a while btw

So am I wrong in believing that switch sold more first year? I thought I remembered that happening. Is it PS4 catching up and beating it this year?

Uh, I'm confused. Are you asking if Switch beat PS4 in 2017? Or are we talking about launch aligned now for some reason? xD

I thought we were always talking launched aligned o_O maybe I just didn't follow the conversation well enough, got Mario Kart on my mind ...

Is the 4.9m confirmed? Switch sold 2.2m by August so that would mean in the last 2 months it has 2.7m which seems a bit too high.

No 4.8m is just VGC figures, the only official one I'm are of is 1.8m shipped for Q1 (April-June). Did they announce July/August shipped somewhere?
