Looks like a genius idea to me, no buttons is the single biggest llimitation that makes phone gaming second class
don't mind my username, that was more than 10 years ago, I'm a different person now, amazing how people change ^_^

Cute concept. Great way to demand yet another 5 bucks for 30 year old games.
If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

The original gameboy's screen was difficult to see in many situations. If it was too bright from sunlight, you'd essentially only see green. And back then screens had no backlit functions, so if it was too dark, you couldn't see anything. And when the battery got weak, the colors on the screen started to fade. |
I'm stealing this because it hits me right in the feels. My dad eventually installed a little pen light that clipped to the safety belt so that I could read/play/look at the map.
Not like I've been suggesting Nintendo do this for a while now. Nope. Not at all.
Is there any reason why the case could not be a fully functional Game Boy that just fits onto your phone?

If they actually end up selling this thing, I hope they make a GameBoy Advance version, there's a few games on that platform that I'd like to play (+ I want an excuse to replay Pokémon Emerald and the Gen 1 remakes).
GameBoy Advance mini would be cool too.
I really wish they would release their classic games for the iphone/ipad and android. I know apple takes a hefty cut (maybe they could compromise but apple is a trillion$ company so probably not). I just dont understand why I can’t legally purchase an old zelda or pokemon game in a phone in 2018. what do they have to lose? phones are constantly refreshing so they could remonitize everything again which is what nintendo cares about. devices usually lose support after so many years so there would be new purchases let alone a constant flow of new customers as children get their first smartphones

Because that would be much bigger than what we see here in the patent. |
Why? Game Boy technology is more than 30 years old. They can shrink all the internal stuff down. I don't expect the device to play cartridges.
