Forums - Sony Discussion - Ps4 Pro Red Dead Redemption 2 bundle announced @399

This is a missed opportunity. A PS4 Slim bundle would've done much better than this ever do.

Bet with Intrinsic:

The Switch will outsell 3DS (based on VGchartz numbers), according to me, while Intrinsic thinks the opposite will hold true. One month avatar control for the loser's avatar.

There's both Slim and Pro bundles, at least here in Europe.

Sony is selling "value", they know you better off investing in a Pro at this point in the gen hence the hard push and Pro bundles. This late in the gen i would not tell anyone to buy a base PS4, its too late for that, go buy a Pro if you in NA

I think base PS4 still holds up nicely given how underperowed this generation was supposed to be 5 years ago.

5 years later 2018 games like God Of War, Fary Cry 5, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Spiderman, Detroit Become Human and soon Red Dead Redemption 2 all run in native 1080p and all of them have almost solid 30 fps lock.

RDR 2 being huge interactive open world will have  some frame drops for sure, but that's expected even on the Pro in some scenarios.

PS4 Pro essentially only doubles the resolution (4K checkerboard) in RDR 2, and I don't think CPU clock boost will help the Pro much compared to Slim.

What the hell is wrong with Sony? How are they going to have such a MASSIVE marketing deal with the biggest game of the year and not do a special edition console? Have they even announced a Call of Duty bundle yet?

PS used up ALL the red paint on the the Spider-Man limited edition bundle. No more red 4 u. Red ded.

That's a nice get for PS. From what I'm seeing, the RDR 2 bundle is for both PS4's in Europe, and just the Pro in NA. Interesting. I'd like to know how many bundles they're producing.

Slims are most likely selling so well without the need for a bundle. Pros have also been harder to find (based on what I have read from anecdotes).

That is probably the train of thought here. Also there should be a CoD bundle. At least it would be weird if Sony doesn't do one this year.

But I do agree that a sim bundle for RDR2 in the US would be ideal, but I am sure there are reasons why there isn't.

Sony has the best bundles, physical game included for the price of a standalone unit

One would assume this would be VERY obvious, yet here we are, 18 days from release, and no bundle has been announced. Sony has dropped the ball big time in regard to bundles and LE consoles for their big third party games in the last few years. MS, on the other hand, does a great job with this. I really hope Sony isn’t getting cocky again.
