Not really surprised since production of physical games ends in February, PS+ support ends in March.

Gonna be interesting to see where a lot of Japanese AA games go.

They SHOULD go to Switch but so far it seems kind of mediocre (was it like that in the beginning of Vita's life too?)

I believe it was similar for Vita, support didnt really pick up until about 1-2 years after launch. Same with PS4, support was pretty poor initially and hit its stride 1-2 years later.

Maybe PS5 will have a vita like optional accessory that can play the games you own on the console while outside. They would be fools not to do it. Although I personally believe that handheld gaming is no longer a thing with everyone owning a cellphone.

Nintendo users sing the switch to heaven with praises for the mobile aspect, but at the end of the day how many actually use it outside of their homes? I would bet not even 10%.

According to statistics released by Nintendo more people use the Switch exclusively as a handheld then have it exclusively docked.

Well, there it is.

I hope Persona 4 Golden gets ported to an actually alive platform, like Switch or PS4.

I'm with you, I consider Persona 4 Golden the best game I ever played, so i believe the game deserves at least a remaster.

(=^・ω・^=) Kuroneko S2 - Ore no Imouto - SteamMyAnimeList and Twitter - PSN: Gustavo_Valim - Switch FC: 6390-8693-0129 (=^・ω・^=)

That's it then. The last competitor to Nintendo in the handheld market. Multiple reasons why this happened.

- Higher price, with a 3G model that was a mistake.
- Proprietary expensive memory cards.
- Games games games. Lack of a killer app to drive initial sales. This one can also be divided into multiple reasons:

1 - High production costs and development time
2 - Lack of easy on the go games
3 - Big franchises, like GTA or Monster Hunter (mainline)

Lack of sales caused Sony to drop support, basically driving it even more into obscurity. Lack of mindshare and ultimately nothing.

However, I have one and I enjoyed it very much. I loved playing Persona 4 Golden and Freedom Wars on it. I still think it is great premium gaming handheld.

Sad to see it end.

And with that, Nintendo now has sole, complete ownership of the dedicated handheld market.

'BC and old retro games are stupid'. Shortly thereafter the PS1 classic is announced.

'We have no plans for a future handheld after Vita'... I wouldn't take that too seriously, no reason(s) in particular.

One of many examples. Sony will tell you they have no plans for a Price cut, Service, Game, etc. one day,  and then turn around and announce it exactly what they denied the day before less than 24 hours later. On the flip side, they will tell you they are working on something for a decade, but for some reason, they just can't ever get around to it.

I play my Switch undocked 95% of the time. Due to its lack of 4G, I have only taken out of the house when I go to friends houses. If it had 4G though, I would have it with me everywhere.

Now where's that Persona 4 Golden port? PS4 or Switch. I don't care which.

I hope the A-AA japanese devs find success in another platform, the Vita was a surprisingly solid console for this kinds of titles.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

Interesting, although I have yet to see anyone lugging one around. I guess maybe I need to go out more often.
