These Switch heads are funny, just like your cardboard sensation, Wow 3rd party support with some old ports like Skyrim from the PS3 era I mean wow, trust me the switch is doing good but it will get around 35-40 million nothing close to the PS4

Switch haters are what is comical.  Last I checked...

Ys VIII

Wolfenstein II

DOOM

DOOM Eternal

Warframe

Fortnite

South Park 1 and 2

Valkeria Chronicles 4

Disgaea 5

Dragonball FighterZ

Dragonball Xenoverse 2

NBA2k18 and 2k19

FIFA19

Crash N Sane Trilogy

...are all current gen titles.  Oh and about Skyrim, the Switch port is based off of the PS4 Special Edition with all of the graphical enhancements, not the PS3 version.  The PS3 is not capable of running the Switch version of the game.

But what do I know.  My trophy card in my sig shows I am clearly just a "Switchhead".

I'm a gamer so I don't care what goes where. I want everyone to be able to play everything. That's why I championed a single platform in the past. You can listen to music on any device. You can watch YouTube on any device. You can play your movies on any device. Games are fragmented so, unless you're a guy that buys every platform, there will always be incredible stuff that you can't experience even when you want to.

Person A: "Did you see the new Harry Potter film?"
Person B: "No, it was only available on Regal Cinemas."

With that said, yes. Games that were exclusive to PlayStation have jumped to Xbox. Just like last year when great franchises like Bio Shock, Mass Effect, Saints Row, and Dead Rising made the switch. It happens. Why are people mad about it? Gamers win. We all win.

Great thread Ive seen it happening and it doesnt seem like it will stop.

I think persona 5 is next.

EDIT: Let me give more context to my post.

Im sure OP is likely talking about (or at least mostly about) all the "niche" japanese exclusives that Sony used to have, which indeed alone they dont push many units but the combined forces of all of them should not be underestimated (im sure i aint the only guy outside of japan who buys PS consoles in big part because of these games).

So since the end of the PS3 era and the whole of the PS4 gen ive seen a lot of these games getting a PC version (which makes them go from exclusves to console exclusives) and some of them later on got a Switch or Xbox port as well making them just multiplats, now i think its very obvious that a full exclusve will push more sales than a console exclusive since a lot of PC gamers wont have a reason to buy the console, in fact every time i saw this games gettin a PC version the most upvoted and the most common comments in those news articles were PC gamers celebrating they dont have to spend 300 bucks to play these games, (and they have all the right and reasons to celebrate).

So what games am i (and likely the OP) talking about? well out of the top of my head:

Valkirya Chronicles: (amazing game and series that used to be PS only then got a PC port and now the new game which is highly anticipated among fans is a multiplat)

Neptunia: started getting PC ports and now its new game is also being released in the Switch (so a multiplat now)

Atelier series: LOONG and old PS exclusive series that got PC ports and is now also being released on the switch (not exclusive but a multiplat)

Yakuza: went from full exclusive to being also on PC and i bet it will eventually go to other consoles because that has been the trend plus the producer of the series already said he could consider putting the game on Xbox

Nier/Drakengard series: some people may not know this but Nier is a sequel and a part of the Drakengard franchise, and said franchise has been a Playstation game since the PS2 until Automata which eneded up on PC and now also on Xbox making it just a Multiplat.

Nights of Azure also started as an exclusive and then became a multiplat.

Disgaea: i am aware that the first game ended up on the DS but the rest of the main series (2, 3 ,4, D2 and 5) was always a plastation thing until Disgaea 5 went from exclusive to multiplat as well.

Those are the ones i can remember right now.

So what can sony do? Honestly if they were smart they would secure the big games (like Persona 5) that still are exclusive to them, but will they do it? LOL of course not.

Yea I've noticed this trend as well of Japanese games coming to PC now. It's great because I've switched to primarily playing on my PC. I guess they are having a lot of success on PC so they are all slowly trying it out as they see other companies have success. Falcom is a great example of this they've release so many of their titles on PC now.

Should sony do something about it?

All consoles lose (timed) exclusives. Most recent ones being Switch (Daemon X Machina) and Wii U (The Wonderful 101).

Should console makers do something about it? I'm not sure. The console and PC audience aren't necessarily the same so even if every game came out for PC, people could still have other reasons to prefer console gaming.

The W101 isn't a timed exclusive. Nintendo allowed them to put it on other systems. If Nintendo said no, we would be still sitting here with a game trapped on Wii U forever.

Hence the "( )". I see how it could be read as if I only refer to timed exclusives but I wouldn't have used "( )" if that was the case.

Let me rephrase: "All consoles lose exclusives. Most recent ones being Switch (Daemon X Machina) and Wii U (The Wonderful 101)."

For most games, I don't see it having any effect at all. However, there are some exclusives that are part of the Sony brand like GOW, ND games etc. and it would be silly for Sony to release them on other platforms. It would be like Nintendo releasing their Mario games on pc and ps4/Xone.

Not really. It would still come to the Switch. Nintendo said to Platinum something like: "We help you do it for the Switch, or you do it on your own wherever you want". So, even if Nintendo wouldn't have allowed the multi platform release, Platinum would have most like it just released it on Switch with the help of Nintendo.

Horizon is not yet confirmed and who honestly cares about MLB? Also MLB 20 is so far only confirmed for PS4, it's coming in March.

Not confirmed? Thought it’s all but certain it’s coming to pc. The sales for mlb, those are people who presumably care, just adding it to the list is all. A game is a game even if this is the last year it is exclusive
