Forums - Politics Discussion - Gallup: 0% of Americans consider Russia the most important problem facing the country - most important topic is immigration/illegal aliens

I find it hard to believe it would be 0%. Very questionable poll, wich are easy to influence in the first place depending on how you phrase the questions.

Top priority? Maybe not. But it definitly should be one of. Unless ofc, if americans are ok with bein a satellite of Russia.

Someone who has cancer spends 3 days in the desert.  They are nearly dying of thirst.

What do you think?  Is the cancer, the top priority at that moment?  Or is their dying of thirst?  Since the immediate danger is the dying of thirst, that is the top priority .

That's basically how this survey boils down to. Followed by this thread, which is basically splitting up the cancer as some kind of partisan issue. "The issue doesn't exist because it's not the number 1 priority".

Just because Russia isn't everyone's top priority, doesn't mean it's not important. It doesn't mean it isn't happening.

Somebody at the guardian actually considers this news?

Good job missing the giant "OPINION" right in front of you

It is still in a news publication. Somebody actually thought this was worth reading and gave the ok to have it published. That's the sad part about it all.

Nobody outside of a few former Soviet republics and whatever's left of Syria is or could be a Russian satellite. When a lot of people think of Russia, they think of the former USSR and they really shouldn't. Russia does not have the geopolitical influence of the USSR. They certainly don't have the economic or military might. At this point, Russia isn't even a regional power. Russia's strong point is they are a nuclear power, so nobody will mess with them. They also supply energy to Europe, so the Europeans can't be too mean to Russia like the US can. China is more of a threat to the US than Russia could ever hope to be. China can economically and militarily stand up to the US, unlike Russia. Also, unlike Russia, China has more of a geopolitical influence. Right now, they are more or less colonizing parts of East Africa. If anyone has the power to influence a US election, it is China.

On the topic of meddling in elections, if the Russians did indeed guess an easy password to gain access to the DNC servers, then it was done locally by people working on behalf of Russia because of the download speeds of the information that was being accessed. This is why so many people still think Seth Rich was involved. It's because it was done locally by somebody who knew the password. There was no actual hacking. Also, whoever did it knew that there was something to be found. I would argue that Russia has probably meddled in US elections to some extent since probably 1948. Back during the Soviet era, it would have been easier for them to do it because they had so many agents and double agents everywhere in those days. After all this time and with fewer resources than what they had during the Soviet era, it would be one hell of a coincidence if Russia just happened to stumble on to a series of incriminating emails that exposed cheating and corruption within the Democratic Party. I'm not saying it couldn't have happened. It just seems too good to be true. After all these decades, they finally find the right person at the right time to take down a political enemy.

Universal Healthcare is one of the most important issues in the USA. Russia should be the least important thing Americans should care about.

Proud to be a Californian.

President Barack Obama laughed off Mitt Romney during the 2012 debates when Mitt suggested that Russia posed one of if not the biggest international security threats to the US. Obama had 8 years (4 of which were with Hillary Clinton as SoS) to deal with the Russians and did pretty much next to nothing for 2 terms. Then Hillary blows a slam-dunk of an election, and all of a sudden it's Russia! Russia! Russia! 24/7 by the mainstream media and their Democrat masters after 8 years and 0 f*cks given by Team Obama and Hillary.

And now we're supposed to give two sh*ts about Russia because the media tells us to? Nah.

I couldn't be happier that the woman in your profile pic, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, is the new fresh "socialist" face of the Democrats.  Every time she opens her mouth it's a gold mine for Republicans.  Supposedly she has a degree in economics but has stated in interviews that she believes one of the main reasons the current unemployment rate is so low is because tons of workers are "forced" into working multiple jobs.  Spoiler alert:  Only ~5% of the current workforce works multiple jobs, and even if it were higher it wouldn't matter anyway because the number of jobs a person has does not factor into the unemployment numbers!

And her takes on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict are about as deep as that of a 3rd grader's on top of all that.  I hope the Democrats continue to run on a platform of abolishing ICE, open borders, pro-Palestine, and free college / health care / everything for everyone all the way to November.
