Not that the PS5 can currently output 8k video to an 8k display. Renders at native 8k but will be for supersampling and outputted at 4k still.

First for Playstation, not a first for console.
Xbox already did it in 2020 with The Falconeer.

Only thing I can find on this is in relation to the developer mentioning 6k and 8k before release, and never again. Pretty sure falconeer does not have an 8k option in the actual released title. Everything after the date he mentioned trying 8k just says the game is 4k60 or 1800p120.
