Almost beating Demon Souls, level 87 and only missing the final boss. It took me only 21 hours, this is probably less than half of what I needed for Dark Souls

I was expecting it to be a bit longer, I got underwhelmed realizing x-3 maps were basically only boss fights

Overall awesome game, really, probably the best I've played this year. I think I enjoyed boss design more here than in any Dark Souls, which have good bosses but I feel 80% of them is just about memorizing patterns and acting fast without needing to understand arena layout or how the bosses works. I actually like some of bosses are about only using arena inbyour favor.

Overall the magic build made everything easier than I'm used to, magic is extremely overpowered here some bosses were trivialize once I understood what to do with them. I guess I have beaten at least half of them without dying one single time, this is satisfying as Demon Souls layout put you very far from archstones with few exceptions

I've also found fighting with sorceres much more fun than with knights, I'm satisfied to finally getting a magic build working after many frustrated tries in DS lol

Level design is much better in DS though. It has much more clever maps with more things to discover and explore. I remember besting it and running to play it again only to see what I missed. Here... not quite really, I'm satisfied for now, I will try other game only for the please of testing another build. Dark Souls plays more like a 3D Metroidvania, while here the structure is much more linear (1-2 and 3-1 are the only maps that I can remember using items from later maps to unlock secrets)

Hopefully FromSoftware won't stop making Souls like games with tight design, I will miss them if they only go to open worlds like Elden Ring :/

Trying to decide what game I'll beat next, maybe FF 7 remake again or Crash 4

After the massive size and scale of Elden ring, I agree. I'd like for them to make another linear title like Demon's Souls, with worlds and levels, each one ending in a boss. Not that I don't LOVE Elden Ring (hoooo boy do I ever love that game), I just like mixing things up. We've had interconnected metroidvania worlds, we've had splaying start from the middle and go outwards worlds, and we've had open worlds, it's time to go back to linear world and level based design!

Or heck, try something entirely new. Not Procedural Generation, though. I think that'd ruin one of the things that makes Elden Ring and all Soulslikes so special, the tight level design. Not gonna lie, though, if Miyazaki made it, Id still give it a shot. I wouldn't be as excited but he has pretty consistently impressed me and the ONE time he wasn't directing a game (Dark Souls II) was the only souls game I didn't absolutely love.

So apparently an older internal pitch slide was leaked (unconfirmed). However, VGC claim the images on the right are real (pitch footage).

Seems like a good business proposition and not that expensive, the only question is the dev capability.

Curious to see what Santa Monica's second project is and curious to see what Bluepoint is making

As long as we get a Bloodborne remaster or remake this gen they can make whatever they want.

Exactly my though. The only way I would have some confidence is if they already had a purchase contract signed depending on target met (a thing I think Bluepoint and the studio that made Returnal have, plus that other new one that haven't release a game) with Sony already investing in massive hiring for the studio.

But since they are owned by Tecent, and KOTOR is also in trouble I would say it is a very dangerous move... but well again considering KOTOR it would be a similar situation of Sony partnering with a Tecent team right?

I don't think Sony will get their 10M back =p

I thought the first game was big! At least in terms of hours put in to 100% it. Now with all 9 realms available, this game is going to take up my entire holiday season!

Started Granblue Fantasy Versus. Got all the online trophies in a few mins, so thankfully don't have to deal with that anymore.

Apparently you can't get the platinum trophy without buying the DLC which is kind of scummy lol

that was supposed from being forbidden from what I remember.

WHAT!

https://forum.psnprofiles.com/topic/67810-guide-how-to-get-100-digital-games/?do=findComment&comment=2625660

Found this and it works. I'm back on 1.00! Platinum incoming!!!!!

Oh so I don't actually have to fill my hard drive up with games, I just have to start downloads for games that would fill it up... that's kinda' weird how it works lol, I'll have to give it a try!

Are you doing it ona PS4 or PS5? I scrolled up that thread and apparently someone confirmed it only works on a PS4, welp!

I mean....at a certain point it's easier and less time consuming and cheaper (because of the non-wasted time) to just buy the DLC...

**Edit** And to be clear I'm not saying it's at all okay, just that..if you care enough about the platinum trophy I can't fathom any reason you wouldn't wanna get the DLC and play it, too.

Even if the base game is given for free I don't think platinum should be hidden behind DLC (or even multiplayer aspects unless it is a mostly MP game). At most I can accept something like FFXIV or that Godfall starter edition due to MMORPG aspects (but I don't like it, should be a platinum that you can get within 40-50h of the base game, and sure I could accept multiple platinum like one additional for each season pass)

Anyone think we might see SM2 at the Marvel/ Disney event?

I feel like it wouldn't be unexpected. I suspect there'll be a ton of eyes on that stream itself and that only works in Sony's favour if it's like 'cool multiplatform game + cool Sony exclusive'.

I'm wondering if there'll be a PS Showcase in September at all. I'm honestly leaning to a GoWR SoP with 1 or 2 games before the presentation begins (like the Ratchet SoP).

I could see it showing there even if with little new info, afterall different venue, different public so even "reclycled" content may be enough.
