But not with anything videogame related.

Sony develops film-thin display

By YURI KAGEYAMA, AP Business Writer

TOKYO - In the race for ever thinner displays for TVs, cell phones and other gadgets, Sony may have developed one to beat them all — a razor-thin display that bends like paper while showing full-color video.

Sony Corp (NYSE:http://finance.yahoo.com/q?s=sne&d=t">SNE - http://biz.yahoo.com/n/s/sne.html">news). posted video of the new display on its Web page Friday. The display is being held up by a hand that's squeezing the 0.3 millimeter, or 0.01 inch, display, while showing color video of a bicyclist stuntman, picturesque lake and other images

(There's a link at the end of the article to a video showing the new technology)

Yeah, I caught that on some tech site yesterday night. It does one-up its competitors, as it's the first one that can reproduce 16.7m colors, but you can bet that Samsung will counter soon enough - they already publicly stated that despite Sony's claims, Sony will not be able to deliver the first batch of OLEDs by this christmas (perhaps only in miniscule quantities).

Seems a corporate war is looming between Sony and Samsung. Could Samsung be the next to come out with a console?

Now what if Sony gets this flexi-screen right and implements it into a PSP2...

Nice...that certainly is the futuristic kind of device we dreamed of years ago.

Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

70" oled (will be mine)

sony and samsung are pretty close companies in hardware. some of thier Tv's are manufactured in the same plants. The Tv markets isn;t cut throught like the movie and gaming console business is. Sony and samsung make the best tv's IMO. Samsungs have better prices at mid level HDtvs while sony has the best high end HDTv's

This makes me hate my ugly, old, 1 meter thick, worthless T.V., and three-quarters of a meter, yellowed computer monitor even more. It's time to smash them!

that is really amazing. i can only imagine what we will see a decade from now and so forth

Maybe one day T.V. screens will be like stickers you can peel and stick onto walls.
