Nintendo is not going to keep a studio open if they keep cancelling games well into development due to poor management. I just don't see it happening. But then again, you can't argue with Retro's results, so we'll see where this goes.

I personally wouldn't be surprised if Retro disappears quietly and without much fanfare. I'm confident Nintendo can smell a good game from a distance, and likewise that if Retro fails to make anything ever again, it is because Nintendo's watchful eye discerned that the studio has depleted its ideas and exhausted its potential. But we'll see I guess. There is no point being sentimental about Retro. They could go down in history as a 2 wonder game studio. Metroid Prime series were immense, but it was only the first that did anything groundbreaking. The other two games were just iterative installments. Same with DKCR: a fantastic first game followed by an iterative installment. There's a reason this studio has consistently failed to meet its vision vis-a-vis original game design. All of their own games have never materialised. They were never a studio that was known for efficiency and good management. Sometimes brilliance comes out of hard and toiling circumstances.

I guess Retro, since Metroid, is just workforce for Nintendo to do whatever task they want. Retro doesn't need to be a star or lead anything. Many has been expecting too much from Retro and I don't get why.

Retro has done absolutely nothing all these years so it's only a waste of resources to keep them around i hope they can give us a final DKC Returns game before shutting down.

Exactly what Nintendo needs right now. Less games.

First of all,I do think shit has happened. 5 years after they started that so called new project and we've heard nothing yet about it, something bad did happened behing doors.

HOWEVER,you can't really take take that report serious. Those jobs reviews came from Glassdoor,a place were anyone can post it. And there is a total of 8 reviews,8 reviews any random joe could post it. And reading them I really believe to have come from troll accounts. Here is what some have to say:

-"They are all but shutting down, the management doesn't know crap about gaming other than the CEO, and they are ordered by nintendo that if by 2019 they don't Begin putting lootboxes and microtransactions, they are gonna shut them down, the hero here is the CEO, who fruitlessly tries to convince ninty otherwise, and yes this is not easy or konami but nintendo"
-" Planning to buy part of Microsoft Studios as a way to increase their quality and production rhythm."
-"Next time you're asked to work on 3 different racing games at once, don't say yes."

Another one was posted the exact same day it was reported that rumor that they may have a cancelled project and Star Fox Grand Prix would be their next game. Most of those reviews are troll accounts. No question.

Also is good to remember that they were the one who ported Tropical Freeze to Switch, while is not the thing we are waiting 5 years for, saying that they did nothing the past years is not really true.
