Forums - Website Topics - My thread was locked but now a dupe is allowed?

Last night, just as I was about to head to bed, Digital Foundry posted their analysis of Wolfenstein II on Switch.

http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=236838&page=1#

I created a thread for it, then hit the hay. I wake up in the morning, and the thread is already locked, before I even get the chance to take part in the discussion.

Then, a matter of hours later, a duplicate thread is created: http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/dev2016/thread.php?id=236843&page=1

My question is, would it not have been easier to simply re-open my original thread and ban those who act out? If it was locked because the discussion was deemed to have run its course, why is the dupe being allowed?

I apologise if this comes across as petty, I just don't understand why we need a second topic on the same thing. Struggling a bit to understand the reasoning here.

Hey Curl. The last thread was locked due to how volatile the thread had become at the point of its closure. The current thread hasn't went on to the point of hostility where it would need locking as of this time. If you wish to discuss this issue more then please contact a Mod via PM or via email. Rest assured we are keeping an eye out on the other thread as well.
