I don’t know yet. I’m used to playing with the Wiimote sideways which is what I used in Brawl and Smash 4 but I doubt the single joycon will feel the same :(

I always liked playing the Wii Remote for Brawl and Smash on Wii U. So I'll probably stick with 1 single joy con.

I promise you, sideways Wiimote is the worst. Single Joy-Con will definitely be better because of more buttons and an analog stick, but you should just get on with it and start using a... proper controller. |
I dont want an analog stick though, and the joycon is too small for my hands.
If I can use some kind of an adapter to connect the Wiimote to my Switch AND it works ok then I will.
The Gamecube controller might as well be named the Smash controller because that is what it is best at. The GC controller just FEELS like it was made for Smash. I actually tried the Gamepad, Wii-mote + nunchucks and the classic controller. They all are inferior to the GC controller for Smash. So GC here as well.
I'll be playing almost exclusively in handheld, so that means the two joycons for me. I put 200+ hours into Smash 3DS so I think I'll be perfectly comfortable. I like the Gamecube controller best, but it's not feasible for handheld imo.
Probably pro controller. It's a real shame there's no controller option with a stick layout similar to the Wii U Pro; having the Right/C Stick directly next to jump was amazing.
definitely sticking to pro controller. its just so damn comfortable
