Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Pokémon Let's Go Pikachu & Eevee looks much better than I expected

I was just watching the first gameplay for Pokémon Let's Go Pikachu & Eevee and I'm baffled that it looks this good. The lightning looks good, the foliage is finally done individually, all pokémon models look great, you really get to see all pokémon and trainers on the world, everything seems vivid and alive, and so on.

You can watch the gameplay and judge for yourselves below. Skip to 2:30 for gameplay. What do you think of it?

Bet with Teeqoz for 2 weeks of avatar and sig control that Super Mario Odyssey would ship more than 7m on its first 2 months. The game shipped 9.07m, so I won

The only thing i dont like is not being able to battle wild Pokemon.

It looks good, but I'm really quite annoyed about the paywall they placed on Mew. You can only get Mew if you buy the Pokeball+ controller, and because it's a Nintendo accessory, you know that scalpers will buy them all up and sell them at 3x mark-up, so that's extra annoying if you're a big Mew fan like me.

You can get it for free through Pokemon Go.

It does look very good, best looking pokemon game for sure, but this is only the appetizer.

Don't you need to be like super high level to catch Mew in Pokemon Go?

There are 8 steps to complete and I think one of them is reaching level 25.

hmm, it's not really doing it for me. Graphically it's the best Pokemon game I've seen, but I was playing Digimon Cyber Sleuth while watching the video and that looks better to me. That was originally only a Vita game, yet Pokemon can't match it for graphics? Pokemon surely has a much larger budget too...

As for the gameplay, the wild Pokemon "battles" look incredibly boring. I hate that random encounters are gone, although I guess with how boring and repetitive wild Pokemon will be the ability to completely avoid those won't be such a bad thing.

I just watched the Treehouse gameplay, when you walk into the grass you will have random encounters. So there seems to be a mix of the player being able to choose what they approach and wild Pokemon randomly attacking players.

I just don't get why they aren't letting us have wild encounters. It really looks like a great game I'd love to play otherwise.

Yes! In motion it looks amazing! And the pokemons being out of the wild makes it more alive.

Ya thats my only real gripe with the game, i wish there was at least the option to battle wild pokemon

Watching it, I just couldn't get over how adorable Charmander looked following the trainer around. I just wanted to pick him up and give him a big ole' hug! And maybe suffer 2nd and 3rd degree burns in the process as he tries to push me off.
I really, REALLY hope they keep this feature for Gen 8.
