The thing is, it doesn't bother me if I see other people running around and whatnot like in MMO's but that nuke thing, if that can be launched to any other randoms that will destroy the fun for me, it's fine if you can shoot those nukes to rivals only, but I clearly heard him say, that you can launch it to a random, or did I hear him wrong?

He said they give the players the nukes to decide what to do with. Can nuke anywhere.

They can always interact with you and the world on that server otherwise the game would not be able to function so yes a Nuke would be able to destroy your settlement it's a bad idea and one I could see problems with from the start.

That's what I'm afraid of and the thing that's stopping me from buying the game.

maybe i'm not understanding but i think his concern was other players, not the always online part

You will never be alone. It is always ONLINE, and you are thus on a server with people at all times. It won't be 100's or 1000's of people, but like 20 probably.

So yes, there is the chance that you get on a server with some dicks and they just keep nuking your base that you just want to build.

so how do you address the his first comment directly after he announced the game?

Why is everyone freaking out about TES6? we all knew it was coming at some point, kind of silly to get excited over a name showing up.

Anyway, only really thing I liked was Fallout 76, I'm scared of the online features though, everything was fine until the nuke thing, need to see how that will work in-game but it looks bad...

Plus, I think Todd said at some point: "It will be easier to survive with a group" (or something like that), which makes me worried that the single player experience will just be bad or overshadowed by the multiplayer.

Nintendo and PC gamer

I think Fallout 76 is just like the Lets Go Pokemon situation.

Fallout 76 probably didn't take too much time to develop considering it's all gonna be reused assets from fallout 4. There will be a playerbase for this.

For those of us who aren't feeling the game, they announced not one, but two more of their "traditional" games, and they will take their sweet time to make those games right.

Yet people will praise pokemon, and bash this.

Bet with Intrinsic:

The Switch will outsell 3DS (based on VGchartz numbers), according to me, while Intrinsic thinks the opposite will hold true. One month avatar control for the loser's avatar.

TE6 got me hyped. Some parts of this were boring but announcements, trailers, and gameplay have been on point. 8.5/10.

Around the Network

Im pretty hyped for Fallout 76. It looked amazing.

As a presentation, bethesda failed to give us a great live conference.
It had too much talking between trailers, awkward pauses and a stupid rock concert at the beginning just to name a few hiccups. The games itself were fine for just one company, though nothing too crazy was revealed. (TES VI is awesome but we knew that game was coming at some point already)

So Doom Eternal is basically Doom 2.....

That showing wasn't enough, I want to see more..

Doom Eternal will be a battle royale game I bet. Doesn't matter though because Rage 2 is basically the sequel to Doom 2015, if you take off the neon Mohawks its Doom underneath that coat of paint.

No, it's not gonna be battle royale. Onstage they called it a full sequel to DOOM 2016.

Not bad. A lot of awkwardness, some good jokes here and there, a good variety of experiences on offer. Rage 2 ain't bad, Doom's still got the attitude, Blades seems unexpectedly robust for a mobile game. 76 is a real wild card; as a seemingly player driven MMO, it could be the next EVE or the next Conan Exiles (probably somewhere in between). The anemic Starfield and ES6 teasers did little, but I'm sure they'll be great when shown in earnest (I guess next gen?).

B-

Bethesda – 7.8/10

The first half was hit or miss with a lot of cringe, but that second half hit it out the park for me. Honestly, I know some of the jokes and presenters were cringe and all, but the jokes at the company's own expense were sort of gold and I laughed out loud a lot at the presentation. Seriously, they may not always know how to put on a show or get the right presenters, but they know how to have fun and I appreciate that. The show did start with a 'we're Bethesda, love us for our people' thing, which was weird, but it also sort of feels legit. I dunno, maybe I'm too tired for this. Anyway, onto the games!

Rage 2 – 7/10 – Honestly, I think the game looks like a lot of fun but the presentation really annoyed me. Andrew WK was kind of terrible (I love him but he didn't fit and nobody cared), the banter was forced, and it took entirely too long to get to showing the GAME. That said, game looks fun!

Elder Scrolls Legends – 2/10 – I guess card games are 'in' right now (hearthfire and Gwent being good examples), but I just don't get it and I have no interest in it.

Elder Scrolls Online – 6/10 – Not a fan of MMO games, but If I was ever to get into one it'd be this. Looks fun, looks up my alley, but I still don't like the whole 'playing online with people' thing.

Doom Eternal – 8/10 – I still gotta play Doom 2016, but it sounds right up my alley as far as FPS games are concerned. Knowing there's a sequel is kind of awesome and gives me incentive to play the last one; plus, I know people are gonna love it!

Quake Champions – 5/10 – I hear quake is good but I couldn't care less. Arcadey PVP shooters are not my jam, if I'm being honest. Still, I guess it's a good version of what it wants to be.

Prey Mooncrash – 5/10 – Sure, this exists. No thoughts good or bad. I never played prey and what I saw didn't catch my eye. Didn't look bad, though.

Wolfenstein YoungBlood/Cyber Pilot – X/10 – Honestly, I just saw the presentation and couldn't tell you anything about it. Something about two sisters in young blood and VR robot nazi hacking in Cyber Pilot? I dunno, I kinda zoned out at this point.

Skyrim: Very Special Edition – 10/10 – Alright, I couldn't help but absolutely love this joke/skit. I laughed out loud at how willing Bethesda was to poke fun of its obsession with re-releasing Skyrim on every console ever and I respect them. Also, I'd totally play Skyrim on my Samsung smart refrigerator.

Fallout 76 – 10/10 This was sort of the big one for the whole conference and I do think they delivered. When they originally announced it was an 'online fallout', I just about gave up, but then they went on to explain how it works and why this is different from what you might expect. As it stands, Fallout 76 is like a traditional Fallout game, but you can have real friends or foes help you build and quest or kill you and mug you. It's basically what if Fallout had Dark-Souls style invasions and co op, but not quite at the same time. As it stands, it's a Fallout game with a significant focus on PVE and PVP as well as base building and 'capture the nuke' challenges. I'm very interested and it comes out this November.

The Elder Scrolls Blades – 8/10 – I just spent two days ranting about how shitty the mobile game market is and how I wish there was a real game I could play on my phone, and here it is. I still don't think it will have the same level of depth I want in an Elder Scrolls game, but it's a first person adventure game with roguelike elements and city building elements. It's simple, but I admit I like what I see (And not just because it's Elder Scrolls and I am biased).

Starfield – 8/10 – Not much to say here other than the fact that it's a new IP from the people who make Fallout and Elder Scrolls set in space. I'm not 100% sold, but I am eager and willing to give it a shot!

The Elder Scrolls VI 10/10 – Just a cheeky reveal that yes, they are working on it, so shut up and stop asking. I mean, 10/10 because it's a sequel to one of my all time favorite games and the one thing I wanted confirmed from this conference. It was little more than a title and a hover-shot over some region of Tamriel; we know nothing more than that, but I'm still hype.

Anyway, this conference had some really bad elements and the crowd kept butting in with jokes and random cheers, but other than that I liked what they showed. I think the one thing that made me happiest was that they were so willing to poke fun at themselves for the jokes people make at their expense. They made a joke thanking Wal-Mart Canada for their help in revealing Rage 2, they commented on how they 'heard their games have bugs' and that 'they heard it on the internet so it must be true' when announcing the much needed beta for Fallout 76, and they even had that cheeky thing at the end where they said they would reveal the game everyone's been bugging them about, being Elder Scrolls VI.

I'm sure most of these games will be good or great, I'm super hyped for Fallout 76 (though a touch cautious), and it's nice to see they can have fun while also making games. A pretty good conference in the end even if the first half made me roll my eyes entirely too much. Still not as good as Microsoft's, but miles ahead of EA.
