Don't most people pronounce it nuclear? I feel like I only hear kids say nucular, a bit like calling the library a liburry.

There are hundreds of words that are regularly used in the English language that aren't spelled even close to how they are pronounced. Nuclear is not one of them.

No, there should be a law that anybody who doesn't spell it correctly as "you" should get a slap though. Slaps for those that replace letters with numbers too!
